I'm currently using RC32, albiet a bit pricey...but it's recommended, even by the vet
I've tried Iams before, i tot it was really fattening, but it seems that RC32 is also as fattening as well....cos i see deposits of fats behind their legs...
but i've also read online that Iams is not good, that it causes fat tissue something something something...i forgot...so i switched
i believe we should give the best to our beloved pets, to provide the best for them as they only have us to take care of them

QUOTE(siggplus @ Aug 4 2009, 07:13 PM)
when i went to buy the goats milk for them, they are still living, but when i got back, 2 of them died already..i am nursing the last survivor, and i think he/she is doing well now

FYI, i am already prepared for breeding. before breeding, i read lots n lots of info about breeding, i even asked questions from this thread.

the cause of mom's death is internal bleeding. from my opinion its nature of them, not my fault..you can be prepared for anything, but even if u r, never ever underestimate the power of God's will.

if He want to take it, he will take it..

you guys can blame me for my fault, if u think i was wrong in breeding the hedgehog, but as far as i know, i am not in fault of this problem..

if its my fault by giving her wrong vitamins, disturbing the mother, clean up the cage after her labour and touching the baby hoglets, yes i accept that i should be blamed for her's and her litter's death

Thank you so much guys for helping, you have been great to me.

RIP Jeni, and her two baby hoglets
*
It's not wrong to breed, just have to be prepared to face situations like this
U should be prepared if the mommy reject the hoglets/mommy dies etc.
There are lots of possibilities to take into consideration and u have to be prepared for it.

I feel for your lost, i hope the remaining hoglet survive
it's not that i wanna dampen ur spirit, but it's an uphill task
the hoglet needs more than just milk...
i dunno if the things u need can be purchased from the vet
best is to let another hedgehog nurse it
that's what i gathered from the oversea breeders
i wish u all the best and i'll help u in anyway i can

contact me if u need anything

Thanks for the info.

Breeding is still a long way for me. Hope that I'll be prepared when the time comes. I'm just fascinated by their colour.

Just my opinion, Jitshiong or alex should open a hedgehog class for those new with hedgie.. tongue.gif
*
Class?
but all the info r available on the internet
just miss out on some detailing n some will have to be adjusted to suit our country
front page got the basics
if not, hedgehog central....n if still unclear, we got LYN!!!! rclxms.gif

Yeah, well said. All the basic info can be found on internet.

But if we want to treat out hedgie better, we still need to put more efforts in it. For me, sometime from theory to practical is a bit challenging.
*
Can't agree more.
We can only read n prepare that much.
When actual situation occurs, it's not as easy at it is on paper
a lot of things have to adapt according to the situation.
a lot of factor cannot be wirtten down
Experience have to be gained ma....
that's y there's this forum
n many other forum to learn from

i learn from breeder oversea as well
via forum of course and email of course
lol!

effort is what it takes...
i'm sure everyone is willing to share

monthly expenses for hedgehog is pretty low compared to SG. Much lower i would say. Only on food, and bedding. If u use newspaper or fleece, even chaeper. no cost for bedding

Let me break this down.
RM150 for cage,
RM25 for bottle,
RM20 for litter box,
RM100 for wheel,
RM5 for food bowl,
RM15 for hide box,
RM30 for bedding pellets,
RM25 for wood shavings,
RM32 for RC36,
RM30 for hedgehog diet food,
RM1 for meal worms
That's about it for my starting costs. After that next 3-4 months, no monthly costs. Maybe RM2-3 for meal worms.
Maybe some price wrong already. As I said, it's just an estimate.
*
ur cage is expensive!!!!!
ur hedgehog got bungalow!!!!
so nice man!!!
zoozone?
RC 36 is RM 32?
so expensive?
per kilo?

Not a bungalow la...Semi-D only... I figure he has to run around a lot. Turns out he sleeps a lot and uses the wheel only... rclxub.gif

I think it's one kilo. That's why I wanted to buy from you! Cheap cheap!

I bought everything from petshack. Maybe that's why it's more expensive
*
wah!!!
maybe i should increase my price to RM 20 per kilo...
earn a bit
lol!!!
should put a higher profit margin....put 3 ringgit also ok
