Today I try feed my mealworm with apple cube..... damn horror, all stuck on the apple cube there and make like flower mealworm.....

i use fleece.

You can use recycled pelleted paper bedding such as BreederCelect or Back2Nature.

Back to nature is good, becoz softer compare to BC, so it's better for ur hedgie feet when they step on it.

Both are safe for animals, and environmental friendly.

Try to feed ur mealies with high calcium food, balanced out the phos bit..

If you hav calcium powder, u can sprinkle on them half and hour before you feed.. I am practising this..

If not, u can feed choy sum.. ;D

eric138, if the mealworm having the calcium powder, with bochai will get extra calcium for it or all already balance back the phos ?

Is it high phos will make pet hard to get other nutrition?

It dpends on how much calcium u give lo..but giving too much also not good...

Phosphorus is something dangerous. Closely related to calcium.

When body absorb 1g of phosphorus, it will take away 1g of calcium during the process. This happen in animals and human as well.

That is why feeding high phosphorus for long period lead to calcium deficiency disease.

But how much u feed those mealworm.... really hard to know about that..... because last time i feed my bochai calcium powder also just slash little bit, as red bean small per day.

Dr Jenny also advise me to feed some fruits, vege to mealworm before serve to Bo Chai.

But I didn't think of feed calcium powder, last time I just slash a bit on top of the mealworm then direct serve to Bo Chai eat.

erm..is meal worm a complusary meal..
i'm pretty disgusted and scared by them..
