QUOTE(Louistt @ Jul 25 2009, 09:13 PM) hey does anyone know what colour do i get if i breed an albino hedgehog (M) with a salt and pepper (F) ? cause mine just gave birth ^^ I think is either Albino, S&P or Snowflake, with higher chances of getting S&P. (Explained by livingmonolith earlier)Added on July 25, 2009, 11:24 pmI just bought "PET WORLD WOOD CHIPS - PINE BEDDING FOR SMALL ANIMALS". Does anyone know whether is it suitable for hedgie? It stated that it is 100% natural pine bedding.. This post has been edited by mic_tcs: Jul 25 2009, 11:24 PM |

Ya, agree with you all. Maybe it's champagne colour, but shouldn't champagne have red eyes. From the picture, it's more like black colour eyes.
p/s: We should have picture taken of all our hedgie and then try to categorize the colour. It's actually interesting to study the colour of hedgie in Malaysia. This post has been edited by mic_tcs: Aug 2 2009, 07:22 PM |

Actually not only albino have red eyes, other type also got red eyes.
And about the link that you sent., it stated that: "The eye color is a rich RUBY RED" -- this is under Champagne category. What I mean is the eyes should be red or ruby red. But sometime even if you do read more, when you first handle the situation also will be bit panic. There's nth we can do except send them to vet if the mom having difficulties when deliver. Sometime the delivery process seems so smooth, but sometime don't. There's always a risk. As a conclusion, it's better to read more first..

Thanks for the info.
Breeding is still a long way for me. Hope that I'll be prepared when the time comes. I'm just fascinated by their colour. Just my opinion, Jitshiong or alex should open a hedgehog class for those new with hedgie.. |
