Whoa.

You guys live damn near me then. Like a 5 minute drive away (minus horrific LDP traffic).

You all, Alvin, Mike, myself and whoever else is around should get together sometime and play.

None of you are rocking the PC version? sad.gif

I'm mostly online on it since my PS3 connection sucks.

Hey Desmond,

Remind me this Sunday, I owe you a drink or something for helping me replace my one button due to my lameness in using tools. smile.gif

As far as I know, no one sells Sanwa buttons just like that.

Gotta order them.

yeah, my best so far when it comes to TRF that is.. I came 2nd last week in a mini tourney (8 players).

@darkstalker: sure, i'll try to be available for some matches, maybe can have some casuals at outpost or summin. plus im still not good at the boxer matchup since i dont play good boxers that frequent anymore(got owned by one last week though LOL), they exists here but i just dont get to fight them that much.

It's cool man, I'm retarded against Abels. My highest loss rate amongst the characters I've faced, definitely.

I was missing combos left and right too. I'm not back in the habit of comboing yet. So many chances of jab jab nothing. sad.gif

Pokes of Balrog:

cHK
HK
HP
cMP

I need to get in the habit of using cMP more. I think I did it once in all ten matches with you. It can combo.

Actually, you know all those times I was doing a meaty cHK or cLP on you after you fall down? I was trying to get to bait your EX Psycho except either I mess up or slight input lag made me screw up the timing and I only manage to bait you successfully like once in ten matches and paid the price every other time. XD

^ For the meaties, I tried each of the headbutts one by one, ending with EX.

Then I tried to do stuff like jab.

Other times I just (fail) to do FA and stuff. Just trying out different things. I mean, I know I can block, but since it's casuals I might's well try things out.

Also, I was throwing lots of EX Uppers to try and predict (and go through) any Scissors Kicks you may do. smile.gif

What tips do you have for my Bison against Balrog?
*
I'm not sure how effective this is, but I think a turtling Bison would prove troublesome. Turn it into a poking war. Your HK should beat out or at least trade with my HK, and you have the safer way of getting in (LK Scissors).

The problem is when we both get EX, then I'll be able to blast through a poke and gain momentum, or just turn the tides and I start turtling. You can technically also blast through with EX Psycho/Scissors but both aren't as safe as my EX moves to get in.

Besides that, use jumps more sparingly? Bison's one is pretty floaty, and I remember I hit you out of the air a few times on reaction with jump HP. I think you can definitely control the ground game with MK and HK, I'll have to chance max range cHKs to beat it I think.

....and eat Balrog's Ultra in the face?

This actually happened earlier. tongue.gif

Well, you could just take all the things I said and put it to offence.

Walk forward MK, HK, HK, MK, HK. tongue.gif

About the Ultra counter for DR, I didn't know. I just saw it was damn slow, thought of it and reacted.

Actually, I don't think that SF4 favours turtlers.

Rather, it favours safe play. Rushdown for no regard to safety gets you killed, turtling all day for no reason also gets you killed.

Gotta play it safe playa~

^ That's definitely turtling. tongue.gif

See, depending on the character, different things are safe.

For instance, turtling with Sakura is a pretty bad idea. Her "AA" isn't anywhere near as good as others and her attacks to maintain space and keep the opponent away aren't as good as guys like Honda or Blanka. You're gonna have to rely on getting in close and forcing the opponent to react badly.

Had a great time watching all the pros/sifus play. I especially AWED and jaw dropped seeing the Gouken(I believe he's wearing the Wii Fit tshirt?) and Balrog player(Aiman I think or Darkstalker).

I have to agree using sticks are way way better than normal controllers. It feels much smoother, all the buttons are at the tip at your fingers. Even though I cant even do my basic moves with sticks but at least I gave it a try.

I am Darkstalker, and I am Aiman, and I am that Balrog yes.

Wii Fit shirt was mikeeee, real name Mike, the runner up for yesterday's gathering. smile.gif

Nice meeting you, even if we ended up not talking much.

____

Fave Cammy combo that is practical:

Instant EX air spike, instant air spike, cHP, cMK, HK Cannon drill

In notation, it is:

qcb, ub + KK, qcb, uf + K, cHP, cMK, qcf + HK

Looks pretty fancy and does nice damage. smile.gif

That Gootecks one is gold.

It's from something that happened at Evo right? He got upset over something and threw his stick? tongue.gif

Don't need to see the crouch animation to do the move.

Same for Balrog and anyone else with a good crouching attack.

I think for that one, it is back + MK, back + MK, down-back, up-back + MK, Ultra.

You keep the back charge the whole way.

Not sure if it works, but theoretically that should be it.
