QUOTE(icycokes @ Nov 9 2009, 02:01 PM) its already the latest... it seems to have alot of problems with the laptop's wifi.. i can hardly connect my school's wifi.. at home, i can connect very fast.. but the connection will get somewhat like "jammed" have to disconnect and reconnect to gain back the connectivity. Might be something wrong with your wifi, I got no prob with my wifi and I've been using my wifi for all kind of downloads, torrent and online gaming. Not even once I experience wifi DC unless reboot the router or blackout anyway, here is a picture to illustrate the problem... maybe is it something wrong with my config? [attachmentid=1294953] thanks all for looking! At campus I get up to 500KBps of downloading speed, maximum bandwidth I get on LAN can reach 2.8MBps Added on November 9, 2009, 2:33 pmabout the IPv6 limited connectivity.. don't worry cuz not much network implement IPv6 yet. You can ignore it unless your school got IPv6. If you are connected to the network, see whether your signal strength is weak? You saying about connecting to network is slow. That one depends much on the AP you are connecting to. At school there are a lot of people trying to connect to same network, so its normal if you experience delay when trying to get authenticate by the network. At home of course will be faster (depends on the type of wireless security you employ on your network as well) cause not much host trying to get authenticate with your AP. QUOTE but the connection will get somewhat like "jammed" have to disconnect and reconnect to gain back the connectivity. Most probably they are have DHCP enable and it has short expiry time, so will get this problem. This post has been edited by zorex: Nov 9 2009, 02:33 PM |

yea, im using n50vn as well...so far not a single problem with my internet at all... the network setting? I will be using different one at different place. But I always fix my DNS to open DNS.
you say even ur phone connect faster, its probably vista prob. When you at campus area where you have multiple AP, your comp will somehow connect to many of them, so when one down, you will be connected as well. Same thing happen to me when I was using Vista and surfing in campus. Try maximize your wifi power. Enable max throughput. (for your info, 54Mbps does means you are really connected at 54Mbps, the throughput of your WLAN will be lower no matter how. If im not mistaken 802.11a throughput is lowest, I cant remember liao). If still kenot, send to asus service center bah, tell them ur prob. |

for some game that dun support widescreen, they will be display in their native 4:3 resolution. I dun think it has anything to do with gc driver cuz I'm using NVidia and having the same prob in Maple ;D. I think this is because Microsoft want dont want those games to be stretch in full screen. If your game is can support widescreen resolution, den shud be no prob..
Added on November 19, 2009, 1:41 pmThis is what I get from some game that support 4:3 eg Warcraft III Frozen Throne and MapleSEA ![]() This post has been edited by zorex: Nov 19 2009, 01:41 PM |

actually, hinge prob not only asus will have. It depends on how frequent you open close your lid and how you handle the lid as well. There is no such thing as very common. Plastic casing what you expect? Even door will have such problem if you don't handle it properly

I think its because of the blotware, the so call factory default thingy. Try update your bios, update your windows and see if still got such prob. b4 i got win7 what i did was, I use the recovery CD to recover back everything, REMOVE norton and disable stuffs that I dun nid. Most important, try to keep up to date with the drivers and bios.
My lappy around 6 months now, no probs since I did recovery. After using win7 even better, its blazing fast ;P |

QUOTE(thugs @ Dec 24 2009, 05:27 PM) Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it. This is definitely software problems... I've fixed mine and it never happen a single time till now except it has faster booting time and faster shutting down time. Others also amaze with the speed I'm now using AVG antivirus. This problem actually occurs the first few days after I got my new laptop. I didn't have any thumbdrive or whatsoever used on that laptop. That's why I think it might not be related to adware or spyware. What I can think of is the driver or something. For everyone's info, my cousin also has the same laptop as I do and both of us are having the same problem. Asus so not reliable? |
