U80V-WX100X- Win.7 PRO RM3899
14" inch, Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P8700 (3M Cache, 2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB), 4GB RAM (2GB x 2), 500GB HDD, ATI Mobility™ Radeon® HD 4570, 512MB VRAM, 1.3 Mega Pixel web camera, Built-in Bluetooth, Genuine Windows 7 Professional
the difference between dis both model is rm500. is it worth the extra 500 to get the p8700 model? pls help!!
First question is whether the cheaper spec with P7450 can satisfy your computing needs. For me, I think it's more than enough seriously.
Second question is whether you need the extra features in Win7 Pro, Note that both model above are of 64Bits of win7.
For home users, the extras in win7 Pro may not be relevant, I list down for your reference below:
-Location Aware Printing
-Domain Join and Group Policy Control
-Remote Desktop Host
-Advanced Backup
-Encrypting File System
-Windows XP mode
-Windows Mobility Centre Presentation mode
-Offline Folder
I do think the Windows XP mode is the most desirable extra in PRO version, but the question is whether you have any programs that actually need to run in XP mode?
The extra 2GB should not be a problem, cause I got mine upgraded to 4GB for Free at no extra costs, you just have to request it nicely from your dealer. Anyway, 2GB ram is very affordable nowadays.
Also, about the larger 500GB of Hard Drive in P8700 package, my suggestion is to get a Portable Hard Drive if you really need the extra 180GB of disk space for the sake of Data Security, and Portable Drive is very affordable too.
The fundamental question is, are you rich? If the extra 500 means nothing to you then pls go ahead with P8700

Hence, the idea is this, will there be any increase in your Actual Satisfaction if you go for the P8700 model? OR, Will your Total Consumer Satisfaction increases IF you spend the extra RM500 elsewhere? like on a set of Logitech Surround Speakers? or 500GB of Seagate Portable GO external hdd?
Worth or not, I prefer to look at the Big Picture, not simply the hardware costs. Hope can help abit here
