Same case here but seldom, thats my personal solution dont know it works for u all anot. here goes:-
1) Incoming call, 2) Unable to slide, frozen, but ringtone still ring... 3) Click the volume bar , click home button, then slide to answer, 4) it works! Hope it helps if someone encounter it again cheers |

QUOTE(amiearz @ Jun 30 2009, 07:09 PM) Amiearz,It happened on my virgin NZ 3G set as well..I guess its more of a software issue. Today it happened on my 3GS but after 2 or 3 slide attempts, I can slide to answer the call. |

Hmm I think it must be our finger problem. Maybe its kinda dirty & the phone could not detect our movement(sliding). For me, I'll switch each finger until it works. That should be the trick, IMO

i experience the same thing too. happens randomly. erm my phone is singtel set, not jailbroken or anything. the slider to answer the phone doesnt slide completely, it slides a quarter of the way, and goes back to the beginning. its quite frustrating at times. no idea why..

hey all... think i'll just bring this issue up again... coz i face it on my new 3gs as well... but my unit was setup by restoring my iPod touch's backup file...
i realise that its not just when u pickup calls, it also happens sometimes when waking up from sleep.. question to everyone, wat carrier are you using? DiGi, Maxis, Celcom? and do you have 3G enabled? the more ppl answer, the easier it is to troubleshoot this... i have a feeling its something related to carrier.. |

This is a common problem apparently. It usually happens when your iPhone has not been turned off or restarted after a looong time.
Some applications remain dormant; i.e remaining in the background and not closed. When your phone rings, the phone 'wakes up', and along with it the applications. This might 'lag' or hang the iPhone for a while. Solution? Restart your iPhone once in a while. I restart mine maybe once a week or 2 weeks. |

happened to mine before once in awhile.
easy way to answer that call, for me, i just press the lock/unlock button at the top, then press it again for the screen to come alive again. Then can slide already. |

Yeah...I also have this problem intermittent though my baby is only 1 month old....but after force to close my iphone and then restart, everything went back to normal....i think probably some s/w glitch for iphone...
