Hi fellows,
Suggest me some places to eat the delicious 'tong sui' (sweet, warm soup or custard served as a dessert) such as: - red bean soup - mung bean soup - sweet potato soup - sai mai lo - peanut paste soup - 6 flavors - steamed egg/milk custard Your feedback is much appreciated. Thank you P/S: KL & PJ area are preferable. |

There's a stall name Poon Kee at Taman Yulek, Cheras. In front of 7-11. Open at night 6pm till around 10pm, but if u go 10pm, maybe not much Tong Sui is left. I know their Chi Ma Wu is every Sunday. I also like Chi Ma Wu and Fa Sang Wu.
Besides Yulek, i know SS2 also got KTZ (near Maybank). Also got Chi Ma Wu but sometimes go during weekend night, sold out d. Opens till 1am daily. Behind KTZ is another restaurant called Sweet Bean, got sell Chi Ma Wu also. I love Tong Sui too, especially Dern Dan (egg), i m unsure what's the name in English. I go to Pudu Wai Sik Kai (opposite Sek Yuen restaurant) for this egg dessert. Not many places sell this type of dessert. But very fast finish. I went there at 8pm sometimes, habis d. Another place for Tong Sui and also for this egg dessert is at Taman Mahkota Cheras. Name is also Poon Kee. Ok, i've their name card, i type it down the address and ph no for u. Website is www.poonkeedesserts.com.my. Branches Mahkota Cheras: 17 Jalan Temenggung 5/9, Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Sek 9, 43200 Selangor. Tel: 03-90109878. Puchong: 51GF, Jalan Puteri 2/3, Bandar Puteri 47100, Puchong. Tel: 03-80636003. Kota Damansara: 30-G, Jln PJU 5/21, The Strand, Kota Damansara 47810 PJ. Tel: 016-6292166. I love Tong Sui too, last time not so much, but now quite crazy about it. Sometimes eat 3-4 times a week, which i think is quite unhealthy in the long term coz desserts very sweet. I try limit myself 1 to 2 times a week. The best bubur cha cha i eat is at Pudu Wai Sik Kai, this stall is not the same stall that sells the egg dessert. The one selling tasty bubur cha cha is the stall selling chee cheung fun n Yam cake. Enjoy your hunting adventure for desserts, TS. |

I don't really like Poon Kee, thier HQ is in Bdr.Mahkota Cheras. They actually started from mobile trucks and now they have their own outlets. Thay also sell 'chee cheong fun' together with their 'tong sui'. Funny thing is, when I asked is there any cold 'tong sui' the operator tells me, " Add ice, and it is cold ".
There's one hidden gem in 11th Mile Cheras near balakong. It is just a stall opening in the evenings and closes at 11.00 pm because it all sold out. Very popular with the locals here as it is cheap. Serves 3 types daily and changes everyday. Also serves local 'char koh' like pak tong koh, yau char kwai, ham chin peng, fat koh, siew peng, ang ku kueh etc etc. (you get the idea). He also sells pau and fried noodles (king chai mai fun) It's very hidden and it is just right beside the badminton hall there. ![]() |
