looks like our original plan for a group visit to QBM to view the Sammy B650 ended up in PISA first. Only this time we viewed the S10 and we did not manage to meet up.

Added on August 7, 2009, 6:12 pmI was there for oly 40mins, manage to find a RCA brand Media Player.. looks good with HDMI output (720p) & Free HDMI cable.

I see it supports many formats, eg.. MPG 1,2,4, DIVX, XVID, RMVB, MKV, VI, MOV.

Think this is a good buy? Price is RM399.

Anyone can update the latest best price for P50S10? is it below 5k already?

I have yet to receive my PlayOn. Should be week after next. But then I wont be in Penang that whole week.

So de_lasoul, what do U think of the P50S10 in dimmer lighting?

I don't think P50S10 can go down below rm5k, I wish that too. So far, in Penang, below are the price:

(1). P50S10k only = rm5750 (QBM Panasonic shop)
(2). P50S10k + BD60 = rm6690 cash and carry(commontan)

As for the S10, I did not really stop to view the SEC booth, but I have seen it in HN at QBM. They played for me using Sammy BD player on Spiderman 3. I still prefer Sammy's PQ but again I cannot judge the Panny as it was showroom environment and probably was not at it's optimum settings. The only thing attracts me on the S10 is the price Vs size, which I think the Sammy can be cheaper. But I have always been concern on plasma's image retention issues, which per Ronaldjoe's feedback is very obvious especially on the Sammy. I think this is where Sammy lacks badly, or maybe we just need to give it time to run in. But again, the Panny also do have this issue, only may not be as bad as the Sammy.

I need this TV to play games, so I have to think twice now and I am not sure how long I have cause my current plasma is intermittently working/not working. I do need to find a replacement soon.

I also see some feedbacks on Sammy's reliability, which also gives me mixed feelings as I already have a Sammy LCD in my room. Imagine all Sammy in the house and all cannot last long... hahaha, but this is individual opinion as some also have Sammy for very long time with no issues.

So, if the Sammy B650 plasma is not improving on the image retention issues as it goes along further, I would only be left with Panny S10, or LCD again but LCD 46" with good PQ and above is quite a premium price to pay now.. anytime >RM7500 (there goes 1 year's salary... )


Oh yea, one more thing, does anyone here know any shop who can buy used plasmas (not trade in, cause if trade in, means I have to buy from them), whether faulty or not?

Maybe we can each buy McD and ta pau up to HN, and talk while having lunch.. heeheh

They also do displays the high end LCD's there, eg Sammy A950, LED series, etc....

If Ronnt is free after lunch, we can go to his place and view his A950 giant along with his poisons... hahaha... Ronnt, what do you think?

Ah Ronn actually for your status U should consider *MINIMUM* 55" Series 8 LED. These plasmas are child's play for U.

If I can make it then I should be able to tag along. Tagger only. I have limited technical knowledge.
