Contrary to this subforum's name, I'm keeping a journal of my sleep laugh.gif

I'm trying a method of sleep called polyphasic sleeping, where 20-minute naps are taken at four-hour intervals. I have no idea whether it will work out, we'll see..

28/Jun 0000-0020 - didn't manage to sleep, but felt sleepy towards the end of my nap. when i switched the lights on, i was very awake.

28/Jun 0400-0420 - didn't manage to sleep again, and didn't feel sleepy towards the end. woke up immediately. it was hard concentrating on tasks. i gave up working at about 6:30, deciding to read a book and play around with a gym ball instead. couldn't focus on either.

28/Jun 0800-0825 - lengthened the alarm by +5 minutes to allow myself more opportunity to sleep. didn't manage to sleep again, and didn't feel sleepy towards the end. woke up immediately, took a shower.

28/Jun 1200-2000 - okay, epic fail. i slept through the alarms, a full 8 hours..

Does it mean 20 mins nap or power nap every 4 hours , you will not have to sleep for 7-8hours ?

Please do tell us the results! I'm interested to know too.

Remember to eat consistently during your waking hours. You'll be awake a lot more, so more food is needed.

My hypothesis:
1. The mind will be fresh, but the body has no time to repair itself. Immune system might take a hit.

2. You might lose weight and increase body fat.

3. Not sure how long you can keep up with this sleeping pattern. Can you do it forever?

Try the other one, Uberman is too strict for non-competitive use

Add a short core sleep cycle in between.

Best.
