Devil's Advocate is good, but personally, I prefer Alan Parker's Angel Heart (1987, with Mickey Rourke, Robert De Niro and Lisa Bonet [of the Cosby Show fame]) better, the whole movie is pretty slow but the ending.... *shivers*
I read review on Angel Heart which says this is a good movie. and like usual, the good ones is hard to find. i dont know where to search for it, even in *ehem* dvd shop.

'Heretic' is The Exorcist 2...Which is boring according to my memory (I watched it ages ago)
The Exorcist 3 carries another name called 'Legion' (Not the 'Legion' that is coming out next year)
ohh the one with swarm of locusts eh? thats kinda ridiculous, not really entertaining.

I personally thinks this movie really defines what the horror movie should be.It is not about ghosts, spirits or psychos or typical alien. It is about a microscopic level aliens with unknown default form which live and infect living/dead organism. You can watch it in youtube.Beware!Dont eat(especially burger) while watching The Thing movie or you are going to puke in some gross scene...

The Thing is a good movie. my fav back in those years. i think watching Ichi The Killer can make me puke sometimes, but still love it!

*ehem* = p!rated laugh.gif

The Thing (1982) is actually a remake, am i right? correct me if im wrong. back in the 70s we can see a lot of nudity too, but the trend nowadays is more on exploiting teenagers with sex. maybe it all started since Scream or I Know What You Did Last Summer.

And yet for some odd reason we remember that scene in MINUTE details!! tongue.gif

If memory serves, that guy almost fell off the window

or maybe i was wrong. since the rating in movies we get to see less nudity in cinema. but teen horror flicks takes a leap since the 90s. im impressed you can still remember that scene thumbup.gif

Case in Point Jennifer's Body

I'm about 50 minutes into the movie, and I couldn't care less...

What were the producer and director thinking when they made this movie!!??

Because it has Megan Fox in it, people are going to flock to it??

Never mind that the story sucks and is pointless?????  vmad.gif

AND YOU DON'T GET TO SEE JENIFFER'S BODY!!!!!!!?????????? tongue.gif
*
they teasing us with megan's sexy curves, suggestive title and some sexy scene but still no signs of jeniffer's t*ts. overall i enjoyed watching JB laugh.gif

btw, how good is Sorority Row? its another remake. is it the same like Jeniffer?

Since you mentioned Sorority Row, I recommend you to try the original 'Black Christmas'. (The one from the 70s)
It is about sorority sisters as well.
Some people said it was slow, but i think the pace is just right.
The suspense did build up nicely from the beginning to the end of the movie.
Not without its flaw since the killer seems to have quite a strength to achieve something that is quite impossible.

I did watch Black Christmas! thumbup.gif

is Black Christmas and Stranger in The House same movie? its a great movie! sets in 1974, it was a benchmark for slasher movies, ie: Halloween, Friday the 13th, etc. what i like is the cinematography and the plotline. we dont get to see the killer but we get to see the whole picture from POV of the killer itself! for a movie that was made in 70s, it was brilliant. and theres Margot Kidder the heroine from Superman laugh.gif . with the dark and creepy theme, brilliant original story line (which was being edited before the movie shooting due to its controversial script that year) i must say its a classic.

Yes, Black Christmas and Stranger in the House are the same movie.
Did not recognize Margot Kidder is the heroine from Superman.
You know she is quite outrageous in this movie, especially when she spell that 8 letters F word. LOL!

haha i was not aware the meaning of that word. new word learned that day! laugh.gif

i have see actvty paranormal, but is true or fake???this like a real...same like clverfld
*
not real. ive seen the director's interview. if you like paranormal activity, try watch Lake Mungo. Aussie horror mockumentary. its like really make-believe documentary about a girl that were found drowned in a dam and the family experiencing strange phenomena in their house after that. the creepy part is the so-called true ghost photos and some creepy phone video. i got shivers watching this alone in the dark.

i just watched Lake Mungo. i like the concept the made it like a amockumentary, the actors were good at it. the show, the made it like real. but for me, it was more like a drama, telling about grief and sad due to lost of daughter. then they found she had a dark secret in her. The show overall is a bit slow. And about the ghost part, it only came in towards the end, and not much scene also.. but i'd to admit, the photographs/video stills it looks real

i personally kinda like Paranormal Activity, bcoz i can feel the intense living in their shoes, and theres more "action than talking" compare to Lake Mungo.

yeap really slow. but as someone who likes to watch UFO or ghost documentary in discovery channel, i can still tolerate and endure through out the whole movie. ok la a bit boring at first lol.
