Thanksgiving (2023)

Talk about blindsided.

This lovely horror movie came out of nowhere.

And it is a great one!

The only really recognizable actor is Patrick Dempsey and he is great in it!

Does it do anything new for a slasher horror movie, no.

The beats is unque enough it gives you the jolt you need.

The kill, oh my goodness, the kills.... Gore fest! I kid you not.

If you like slashers, run I do mean run to your nearest cinema showing this and enjoy before it leaves the theatre.

Looks very promising. The "origin" story.

Back to the "horror roots"? Feels like it.

The third and possibly final part to the X trilogy. Enjoyed the first two, this one looks to have a bigger budget, cast and scope. Also, you can hardly go wrong with A24. ☺️

Exhuma - I want to like this but the second arc is just stupid. I was thoroughly enjoyed the set-up and the contrast of k-idol shamans with veteran actors to tackle the supernatural mystery. The resolution and reasoning for the second ghost hurts my brain. It's annoyingly shallow. Bad watch.

Hopefully a great start for Nusantara blockbuster

Indonesia already have a few horror movies which are considerably good and they have been doing it since the 70s

Pengabdi Setan is a remake and quite good

This kampung penari has an earlier version, where a group of students went to do their CSR/ social improvement assignment there. U can look it up.

Abigail - if you know nothing about this, please don't look for the trailer because of a main spoiler. Just go in blind and you will be rewarded with an entertaining experience. The premise is a group of shady crooks task with kidnapping a 12 years old girl. Babysit her long enough to collect ransom money. Of course there's more to the little girl. Fun and very watchable.
