QUOTE(RextonHub @ May 31 2011, 03:13 AM)
The root cause of your problem is because of bloated tires but you follow mechanic advice blindly to change all unrelated parts that ended up with RM2.5k. Without solving the root causes that is your bloated tire, it is useless even if you change all the parts under carriage.

Upper Arm and Lower Arm Bush cost only RM30 each, even if you change all the 12 bushes cost only RM360. If you still not happy, change all the 4 absorbers to OEM Hyunkai for only RM100 each, only RM400 + RM360 = RM760. Add a set of 4 Silicone Rubber dampers, you get suspension even better than brand new Rexton.

Hi,

I've changed all the following parts as you mentioned.
The juddering is still there when reach certain speed like 70~80km/h. Tires are brand new too.
Wonder if it's the engine or gearbox mounting causing the problem? hmm.gif

Their "tuner" club only have few heavily modded pickups, few heavily modded exterior looks.

It's more like a name than it's actual meaning.

3.0 VNT comes with the scoop. While the 2.5 don't have I/C unless a aftermarket ones if fitted.

am_eniey, do you guys happen to take the route from Banting to Sepang? I used to spotted alot of pickup truck coming out from a kampung route when going off through short cut. That was hell alot of Hilux. Led by JPJ's Forturner some more..

not really, still do lot of miles on the highway. the Bridgestone..havent seen them in specialist 4wd shop. Wonder why  hmm.gif

Bridgestone Dueler... hmm..

Depends on which spec of Dueler are you getting. But their HT sucks to the max. The tyre is quite solid and keras in form. But when performing in wet is totally b****. Wheelspin easily on wet roads even on auto tranny.

Helping to spread this news on behalf of my close friend.

To any Hilux 2.5 owner, a friend of mine intend to swap all his aftermarket mods as below with your (stock Hilux 2.5), all for RMxK + your stock parts (must be in good and working condition).

- Garrett Ball-bearing Turbocharger GT2860RS

- Turbosmart Wastegate 38mm (GENUINE)

- Turbosmart Boostee manual boost controller (GENUINE)

- Custom ceramic coated headers matched to a complete custom made 3" s/steel exhaust pipe output via an genuine Original R34 Skyline Muffler w/ genuine R34 exhaust tip

- Delta Fin 570cfm Intercooler + Silicone hose + s/steel piping + clamps

- Cusco ATF Oil cooler (GENUINE)

- Cusco Oil Catch Tank (GENUINE)

- No electronics / piggyback / controller included.

- ALL Plug & Play parts -> Direct mod to your Lux 2.5G stock;

All the owner asking is all your stock turbo/stock header/stock/everything as above to "transplant".
Owner have spent close to RM25-30k on aftermarket parts, asking for less than 10k.

Reason to demod : selling off his Hilux.

Paired with a proper management system can get your Hilux go over REAL 250horse+ easily.

PM me for more details, please don't waste our time if you intend to ask-for-shiok.

I think it will hit 140k easily. Looks very premium for a dual cab

Dont think so. If it cost that high, their market share in Thai will drop all the way down to drain. Hilux/Vigo is very very close to them already.

Cool and stable. But defeat the purpose of owning 4x4.

Getting stuck in mud, going through uneven road with holes are going to have big time.

Hi 4X4 enthusiast! smile.gif

I'm currently in the market looking for a 4X4 vehicle. I don't think I will be driving it as my daily car though. Most of the usage would be during long trips back to KK or kampung area tongue.gif I don't plan to bring it for deliberate off-roading also biggrin.gif

My current choices are listed below:
1. Toyota Hilux 3.0
2. Nissan Navara
3. Isuzu D-Max
4. Any other recommendation from Sifus smile.gif

Of the vehicles above, which has the biggest rear leg room space? And also which is less 'bumpy' on the road? Any comments on the vehicles listed above?

Appreciate your advice on the matter smile.gif
Thanks.
*
Ok. since you don't do offroad, no daily drive.

Navara has biggest rear leg room, but also have very straight rear seat. but can modify the seat bracket lah.

Less bumpy? Triton....

Fuel saving? Dmax

Resale value? Hilux

Power? Navara.

But then when it comes to reliability................... you know lah.

Thanks for your feedback smile.gif

From the looks of it, seems that Navara is the best option (taking the resale value out of the picture tongue.gif). But will need to test drive it to check how comfortable it is.

Still not sure which 4X4 to go for. Both Toyota and Mitsubishi delivery are delayed till mid next year. Unless I decide to get a Navara instead biggrin.gif
But I guess Toyota is the 'most' reliable of the lot ehe?
*
I doubt so. Reliability should be Isuzu DMAX.

Navara also delay bro.

is it even a 4x4?
hayor.. those are outdated models.. although some have undergone facelifts they are basically outdated..

try the new ford ranger, vw amarok (if it ever comes) or chevy colorado...

all with newer tech... unlike those outdated ones on top...

vgt turbo more torque at lower rpm. Higher hp as well. Gs is running normal turbo, n it's 2wd if not mistaken.

VGT spools faster & responsive. But they don't lasts if you start playing with higher boost. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(kirakun @ Dec 19 2011, 01:30 AM)
I have driven both the hilux vigo and the ford ranger 2009 facelifted version. I'll say ford ranger got more torque at lower rpm compared to hilux but comfort wise hilux win all out. The rear cabin of ford ranger cramps like hell, very straight seat plus with the stiffer suspension, long distance traveling will be a pain in the a$$ and back. Also the engine of the ford ranger roars like a lion expecially when u push it for more torque and lotsa black smoke emission but otherwise ok. Between the two I'll get a hilux anytime as it is more balanced and refined both in comfort and power.

Ranger CRDi or the normal XLT?

QUOTE(kirakun @ Dec 21 2011, 10:03 PM)
Might be possible if on highway and no speeding with constant rpm below 3k.

My old crv also can cover nearly 700km on a single full tank and full-time highway/trunk road.
*
below 3k!???? should be nothing more than 2k rpm on a diesel to achieve that.

Well I didnt know that a sorento can speed to 110km/h while keeping the rpm below 2k. Anyway i don't own any sorento to argue about that so I'll leave it to the owner to answer.
*
I don't own 1 either. A diesel cruising above 3k rpm won't give you good FC. But then, it's all the gear ratio do the talking.
