They're too busy talking amongst themselves, talking on the phones, texting, offer live commentary whether other audiences like it or not, treating the theater like a coffee shop or a playground, letting their kids running around, than actually trying to understand the plot of a film. I hate to say it, but it was the rudest and least considerate audiences I've ever encounter. The only reason I didn't get bothered when I watch Buried at a theater here is because I have to pick a late night showing on a Sunday at a theater at a crime-infested area ON PURPOSE just to make sure not a lot of audiences would show up. Yeah, basically I have to risk my life to make sure I have a half decent theater viewing experience. LOL. Even then, there was still a couple there talking thru out although they're just whispering so I just thank God it could have been way worse. I don't get it, if you like talking so much, why not talk somewhere else. You don't have to pay 9 bucks for it... That is an ugly truth about local's attitude in cinema. They're just not bothered about others. Thank God the audience that I shared the hall with, for this movie was close to professionals, except for the ending of the movie when someone said "dah habis? ape cerite ni?". Haha...

The final scene was just surreal. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « On 1 side of the line, your wife finally gets back to you and she asks of your well-being and whereabouts. You can hear in her voice that she regretted not taking her cell-phone along with her. She tells you of how much she loves you and how much she wants you to go back to her. She asks of you to promise that you will return home, to be with her and with the family, no matter what. She asks of you to even swear that you will do what you’d promised.
You tell yourself, “I’m so happy to hear my wife’s voice and I wish I could hold her now. I wish I didn’t come here in the 1st place. I wish I’d just listen to my wife about this job.”
On the other side of the line, Dan Brenner, the hostage rescue expert, is on the line, informing that he managed to locate a local, who knows of your location. He tells you that he and his team is on the way to your location and asks of you to hold on to your life for another 3 minutes. He tells you that he is going to get your out from this mess. You can hear in his voice that he is genuine about getting you out and that gives you hope.
You tell yourself, “He is going to get my out from here. He did it before and he is going to do it again. Ok, Dan. 3 minutes it is. I will hang on to my life until he gets me out! S***! The sand is getting in quicker than I thought and I have no room to move! Quick, Dan! Quick!”
With so much going on in your mind, in the box, in the outside world through the line with Dan, your mind is probably EVERYWHERE!
Then doubt kicks in…
You could hear that Dan asking his team to dig faster, through the line, but you couldn’t hear any digging sound from the box!
Then reality kicks in…
Finally, you are blown away with the fact that Dan was digging but he was at the wrong site. On top of that, he tells you that he dug out MARK WHITE! When the movie ended, I was in pensive mode. I can only imagine what went through Paul Conroy’s head on his last breath. This post has been edited by domcobb: Feb 9 2011, 05:36 AM
