Huntelaar will be a much more realistic target than Benzema which will either stay at lyon or opt for RM. He will be a great addition to our squad and to compete with berbatov in first team.

All i can say is owen will be a great signing to our squad. First of all, he is willing to be on the bench and he has a vast experience playing for top clubs in europes like liverpool, real madrid and even epl's newcastle. Perfect 3rd choice striker biggrin.gif

the signing make sense, as fergie wont sign a big star striker as he already got rooney-berbatov. there are no such thing as rotation for the star players as fergie is not playing FM ... they will become the next tevez. thats why united glad to have ole as a super sub, willing to sit on the bench and wait for chances ...

owen will be fergie 3rd choice striker after rooney and berbatov ... still wellbeck/macheda is too lightweight to become 4th striker ...
*
100% Agreed. smile.gif

Yeah...just worried about him being "injury-prone".

Of all clubs linked to tevez, i'd prefer him to join man city. I still want to see him in EPL smile.gif

carlos tevez heading to Man City or Liverpool ?

He surely supposedly to be on his way to man city but not liverpool. He stated he won't join rival liverpool, which he will be treated a traitor is he joins and I don't think pool can afford to get him. Man city will also provide better salary biggrin.gif

We have Rooney, Berbatov, Owen, Manucho, Macheda and Wellbeck.

Don't forget Manucho could provide backup on the left wing too. Since he was loaned out to Pana and then Hull city to experience the EPL. SAF will surely give him a chance to prove himself next season. Macheda and Wellbeck shall provide backup while playing for the reserves team.

Frazier campbell who performed quite well for hull last season should be leaving manutd for first team opportunities.

Ashley young is a very good target indeed. We have plenty of good centre midfielders, fletcher and hargreaves(once he recover fully and regain his good form) will provide good support as an anchor-man. Michael carrick's passes will rip rivals asses off and anderson will be looking to improve again smile.gif.

Haha how come so sure got 100m to spend...?

Thinking all the money from ronaldo transfer will be used ? U think glaziers wont touch the money izzit ..? Forget that there is still debt ?

Mayb mancs have one more signing to do , the money that should have been spent on tevez and benzema .

You should read more before posting. You didn't even know why tevez opted to leave..its not that we didnt want to sign him.

Benzema chose Real madrid over manchester united.

Tosic should be able to taste more first team football next season. Ljajic will probably be in the reserves squad. If we sign obertan, we will really have plenty of wingers.

No one wants an Owen shirt

It's lucky for Michael Owen that Sir Alex Ferguson rates him, because Manchester United supporters certainly do not. Since he signed on Friday, the club shop has yet to receive a single request for an Owen shirt.

This evidences just how widely the dissatisfaction with his purchase is felt; very few supporters feel that he is good enough to play for the team, and just as many are resentful of having an ex-Liverpool player in the squad.

An employee at United's megastore commented that:

"We haven't got his number yet, which might have had an effect, [but] we are not expecting a big demand even when that is known. As far as I know, no one has asked for [it]".

It's retarded to see pools fan coming in posting that and laugh. It's enough if you do that in your own club's thread smile.gif

He hasn't even got a number yet bro tongue.gif

You may be right to be worried if it was the Wes of old, but apart from last season where he was unlucky to get a long injury lay off, he's been fine. Not as injury prone as he was before. Options for CB: Rio, Vidic, Evans, Brown, O'Shea. Defence is the least of our worries. Those above along with Rafael, Gary, Evra, Fabio and the other reserve defenders.. we have more than enough.

RB = Wes, Rafael, Gary, O'Shea
CB = Rio, Vidic, Evans, Wes, O'Shea
LB = Evra, O'Shea, Fabio..

9 players for 4 positions. Adding more would be overkill..

Added on July 9, 2009, 8:04 amWe only play 433 in the big games. For the other matches it's usually 442, with Ronaldo having the license to not track back. We'll just replace Ronaldo with Valencia in the side, and it'll be the same like last season formation on paper. Only this time the approach and tactics will be different.

Not to forget, Ritchie De Laet played the last league match for manutd last season on left back and he was awesome! smile.gif

Gary Neville believes Michael Owen's move to Manchester United can rekindle his England career.

The striker, who joined United from Newcastle this summer, has found himself frozen out of the international picture under Fabio Capello.

But Neville said: "Anyone who plays for United over a season has a great chance of getting into an international team, no matter whether it be England or any other country.

"It's a hard club to play for and if you're playing well and doing well then you have a great chance.

"I don't think Michael moved to United for England. He's moved to improve Manchester United. But the opportunity is there for him.''

The defender is also harbouring hopes of an England return ahead of the World Cup finals in South Africa next year.

Neville has endured a miserable time with injuries over the past couple of years but was recalled to the England squad for last month's qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Andorra.

The 34-year-old continued: "I have an opportunity. There's still a long way to go for anyone who thinks they can be in the squad.

"I like playing for England and want to be there. It's frustrating not winning anything with England and not getting to finals but there's still a chance there for me.''
