Recently i just started my life in IRC (seems like im going backward)
And actually i did this is wanted to leech some files from there.
But when i started, i cannot even connect to some server like Rizon.
i let the program retry and retry up to 40 times also fail.
the only error message i got is Unable to connect to server (Connection Timed Out)
Is this "normal" to streamyx user?

YES. You have to specify which server you want to use, this is so as the main server doesn't seem to respond. Could be TMNET being a pest.

For Rizon, this server should work.

I think the topic is misleading XD. Maybe it's just me.. but IRC and Streamyx are completely different things.. you can't have them on VS!

Btw, just trying to know if it worked for java irc as well?

If you were to use Mibbit, Connection to Rizon is perfectly fine. Freenode will have a problem since they started to block Mibbit couple of days back. Freenode has it's own Web Client.

On Pidgin, ashenworlds can be reached for Rizon, while the official irc.rizon.net is timing out-"ed". Freenode is fine.

it maybe u can connect to irc using mibbit but if u read TS's first post "leech some files from there", u can't use xdcc or do any file transfering with it. u still need mirc or a full program to do that.

I am a heavy irc user especially to rizon since most fansub located there. I forgot but most rizon.net are block by TM but last time got 1 or 2 still haven't block and some rizon mirror server also can connect to Rizon. But my solution is to use proxy bypass or vpn or tunnel method to bypass screwmyx blockage. will some other irc server still at least accessible

A few years back i use this method since i got latest released by Scene via p2p i prefer to use torrentflux now

but the fansub is only on that channel...

I transfer files (Legal ones OK) via Pidgin, and yes Mibbit doesn't support file transfer. It is only a web-client. Obvious, isn't it?

Like I said already, if you want to get Rizon, connect to "irc.ashenworlds.net". They are all mirrors to the central/main server. Your channel WILL BE available to all servers.

joshuatly, if you want to connect to other servers, I'll help you check which can be done, since I'm in Malaysia anyways.

if you got a k-line ban or other ban just restart your modem to get new ip . after checking the rizon(the 1 that i usually use) server list ,i can connect ,just try different server everytime you cant connect .

heres some experience i can tell, even if u are able to connect to rizon. but crappy screamyx have very very very very crappy routing to those network for some reason. Downloading from some bots are also slow.

But when i tunnel my irc connection thru vpn or proxy. everything instantly loads and the meaning of instead message comes into light

I am using 4 Mbps it looks i can connect to them easily, that's why Premium IP better

i tried resetting ip for about 20 times... the result is, i get signed on and after half sec, disconnected... KLine problem also.

There is something wrong. The server is not receiving your hostname and/or Ident. I haven't met this error, I'll check on it after dinner.

both of us 1mbps user

In my hometown (Kota Kinabalu), theres a 50/50 chance of getting in without proxy but its just slow so in the end still need a proxy for me to get fullspeed download from those bots.
