Championship Manager 2010™ to launch this September


Beautiful Game Studios are proud to announce the next iteration of the Championship Manager series is set to kick off in September 2009, including a brand new feature never before seen in a football management game. - CM Season Live™

CM Season Live™

While we’ve been polishing the game during our extended dev time, it’s also given us the chance to include a unique feature which will add longevity to the game.

CM Season Live™ is an additional monthly update that lets players download the real-world 09/10 football season data, at that point in time, and then take charge of their chosen club. All of the scores, competition standings, player transfers, player stats, bookings, major injuries, average ratings etc. from the ten leading countries in Europe, downloaded directly on a monthly basis throughout the season - full updates of 49 major leagues and competitions. CM Season Live™ starts on October 15th and will be available at monthly intervals for 6 months.

CM 2010 will be available in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish & Turkish languages, and will be up to date for the 2009/2010 season. Additionally, there will also be an official data editor made available.

Cynet - Season Live is only for the retail copies of the game. They're 6 downloadable updates, available monthly specifically to create new gameplay challenges within the CM10 game, meaning you can start your season at any point you wish and face the same challenges as 'real world' managers.
There are no plans for an on-line version of the game (as per FM Live) at the moment...

Actually I stop playing CM after SI and Eidos got separate. After that I just playing FM untill I found a video clip about new CM. It's look like very impressive for me and cant wait untill it release.

Now they (Eidos@BGS) dont make any official announcement yet about where can we download the new CM10. But some rumors said that they will make it available with steam. CM10 will release on this coming Sept but they didnt mention the date.

I check with online distributor and they said the box copy will be in stock on 28 Sept (peninsular malaysia).

Nevermind it's demo anyway. Do you have download and play the demo? Actually I dont think so that is a bug. From the video its look like a bug but if you look back to set pieces creator, you can put any player on set pieces taker place even a goalkeeper. As you can see in the video there is one set pieces taker and goalkeeper. All 9 remain player stand at the right goalpost. So the opposite player will marking all of them. I think all the video clip take from corner set pieces.

I had play the demo and still playing it now. However if CM want to bet FM there is a lot of thing they need to do. But the 3d is amazing.

Choose your own price for Championship Manager 2010

I would pay as low as rm 10 - equivalent to a Jack Sparrow Version because they are a long long way from FM. FM will surely come up with as good as 3D of this version

im playing the demo right now, it loads to be quite slow, especially the startup. I'll say the 3D engine for cm2010 is definitely better than fm09, I have yet to encounter the silly bugs reported in the forums.

I have not even press the "CONTINUE PLAY" button and just scrolling around seeing players, I must say the player data is not accurate at all
using Man Utd, even players like Amri Yahyah who scored 2 goals in preseason against MU gets good finishing 80, pace 79 "for running past ben foster"
Hardi Jafar is the malaysian david beckham? crossing 100 long shot 100 team work work rate 100 and many other above 80 puts him above even european wingers. My god this game is worth exactly 1p for having whoever that researches Malaysian football players network.

Overall this game is not a final, so i wont write it out. I am impressed by the set piece creator and the drills especially, the training department is indeed a plus.

OK time to write my review of this beta demo

This game, love it or hate it, is another management game ought to knock football manager series off the shelves and to bring up the graphics standard to be more or less, be appealing to public, or some would say, reduce the gap btw EAs Fifa Manager's FIFA engine and rice grains running amock on padi field of the SIs. Kudos to that, they done well to implement it "took farkin 2 yrs of effort". The game is easy to grasp upon if u played both Total Club Manager series {somehow the fonts n squad screen are nostalgic as far as i am concerned} "EA brand before renamed into FIFA manager" as well as reigning FM series. I must say the set-piece creator is very nice, and u can replay your set-pieces created on and off again to see effectiveness. but LOL at the set-piece creator bug. U could put 8 man together with 8 opposition marking them, while asking them to run to side of the field while leaving a VERY VERY open space for one unmarked striker to just tap the ball into the back of net be it corner or free-kick "which i m exploiting n m sure many others too". Trainings, drills, fluid arrow-pointing instructions are definitely an add-on rather than a futile attempt. Even the news section is ALL-in-ONE, divided accordingly rather than separated acc to their own leagues in SIs FM - organised, easy to find the news that only what u want to know and hear. Now, while harbouring hopes that BGS would make SI chiefs worry about their own traditional match engine, with a few tweaks here and there on tactics section, I am sure the FM series want-to-be managers would soon get a taste of their innovative features once the demo is out.

When I flipped open the YouTube video to see Roy Meredith promoting their WOW factor supported by Alan Curbishley n Gordon Strachan I thought, lets give it a try given forumers here ^^ promoting this game n let off some eye-catchy pics. Still, I was not convinced by the data of CM series because even the likes of Amri Yahyah can be better than many footballers of the EPL standards, let alone the Coca-Cola championship. Hardi Jaafar getting stats better than the legendary welsh wizard Ryan Giggs, Frank Lampard having a min release clause of 20 mil pounds n moving to Man Utd "if ur not MU manager it is somewhat preset by AI" while there are no fierce rivalries n tempers flare in this game AT ALL, no accurate players n clubs history, Ryan Giggs scoring 103 goals a game , 4 or 5 players becoming record appearance holder etc. to name a few.

All in all, BGS should be given credit for trying to stake their claim in managers "gamers" hearts, for introducing a new way of business "buy what amount u think the game is worth". If for the sake of dumb but cool looking match engine, then 1p is money-no-object. with non-accurate data, vague player assessments and non-realistic transfers, Football Manager series will continue to dominate footy management world, at least for the hardcores..

Demo Final Verdict: 2.5/5

Pros: Set-Piece Creator "as flawless and as flawed as u want it to be", Drills, Arrowed Tactics, Prozone analysing as if Shebby Singh virtually is there, Players have no potential ability or current ability - buy what u think can be top class n mould him the way u want him to be", Match Engine GUI

Cons: MATCH ENGINE JOKES Defenders, midfielders making school boy errors eg: back pass often even if the instruction is to attack forward, and often backpass leading to Rio Ferdinand handball "not ONCE, but TWICE in as little as 3 games", slow process, Inaccurate player data, unrealistic transfers "including Bilbao signing non-Basque players", not tacty "may be gud for newbies"

I hate watching the players training even the drills...
Are there any way I can turn it off? They even force us to watch the players run 100 m FFS!!

It looks cool, i played USM 98-99, then CM, then FM. This year will try both CM and FM.

Watching the training drills? I dint have that at all in the demo. At most was the trainings from the set-piece editor.
