As for the new headphones
They do work with iPhone 3G , however the remotes don't work (volume keys). I am finding a way to get it working I'll let you know if I've managed to get it working or not with 3G. I am guessing apple might have disabled some crap as usual in order to encourage people to go for 3GS ! |

Its called redsn0w - it allows you to jailbreak + if you want it can even unlock the phone so that it will work with any carrier/provider

You can try xGPS , its free and its possible to load offline maps to it as well (you'll have to jailbreak your iphone)
