Well, apparently ... not all Maxis Centers are equal ... I went to the Klang Maxis Center @ Bukit Tinggi to collect my 32GB 3GS and was told there was no stock. I was never informed earlier at all about this ! ... After calling up Maxis call centre and escalating the issue to the manager (Shaun Liew), he finally told me I can collect it tomorrow morning ...

THEN ... I found out that the stock arrived at around 12.30pm today, but they never called to inform me at all.

This kinda service is totally unacceptable. I booked my unit on the first day and paid the deposit the next day (July 15). Instead, ppl who booked much later at Maxis Centers around PJ/KL gets theirs first.

Maxis SUCKS ... I cant wait for my contract to be over so that I can switch telcos ...

I finally got my 32GB 3GS from Maxis Center @ Bukit Tinggi, Klang ... the whole process took 45 minutes because their system was overloaded, and after several attempts, the staff gave up, and decided to process it manually.

Gee, you would think that a company like maxis should have done the necessary load testing of their systems before the launch. After all, they know how many ppl are collecting each day, how many outlets they have, etc ... they could have easily anticipated the load level ...

that's why, just because were not collecting from KL that we're not important, we booked early, we paid early, they should know that we're serious

I'm ok la with the waiting, its not really important, but I'm questioning on how maxis is handling the issue, if there's a global shortage, then what can we do? bomb Foxconn? haha.

I just wished that maxis could've been more customer-centric, not just thinking that they are the master of the universe

I agree ... they know how many prebookings there are, there's no excuse for things to get messed up during collection. Even if there is a shortage of stock, they should have provided based on prebooking order, that would have been fair to the customers.

Fact is, a lot of the problems we encountered are actually logistic screw ups, rather than shortage of stock. Like when I went to collect my unit on morning of July 31st ... they told me no stock and that stock will only arrive on Aug 4th. After lots of complaints and calls to the call center and talking to the manager, they tell me i can collect the next day on Aug 1st ... but then I found out later, the stock actually arrived at 12.30pm on July 31st at the branch where I am suppose to collect (and they didnt even bother to call me to tell me I can collect on that day). That means, it's a logistic problem, the stock was already on the way, and these jokers don't even know what's happening.

for me, it's not that much on getting the phone ASAP. I already waited for this phone to arrive since they announce it like years ago...lol..

It's more like the promises made by maxis and then did not honour it. Worst is when they collect a NON-refundable deposit promising we will SURE get it when it arrive. This is very unethical thing to do. If they can't deliver what they promised, they shouldn't have collected deposit.

Agreed ! ... What is the point of pre-booking, paying deposit, and setting a collection date ... and then to be told there is no stock ... and even worse is when you find out that other ppl who booked later than you got their units earlier ! ... It's like Maxis is saying ppl who booked at the prominent Maxis centers (MV, Sunway, etc) are "higher class", while ppl who booked at the other Maxis centers and MEPs are "lower class" citizens. They should have delivered the units based on booking order to be fair.

On top of that, Maxis service is a nightmare of epic proportions ... Ppl in Maxis seems to have no idea who is doing what, or when and where. Different ppl give you different story ... There's no excuse really ... the fault clearly lies with Maxis.

Added on August 5, 2009, 12:03 pmGuys, here's some important info ...

Those of you who took the iValue plans ... you should call up Maxis to check what is the BILLING CYCLE for your account. Mine for example is on the 10th of every month ... What this means is that for the first month (My iValue plan started on Aug 1), it's not a full month ... Mine is from Aug 1-9 ... and fees are prorated accordingly ... which means all your free mins, free sms and your data limit is oso proportional so the number of days of your first month. My iValue2 plan for example will allow me to use only about 1/3 of my free mins, sms and data until Aug 9 ... then it resets for a new cycle ...

This is important so that you don't accidentally use over your limits, especially data limits ... otherwise, you might end up paying a bomb ...
