I've just downloaded BeeJive 3.0 for iPhone. Unfortunately it's not working really well. Kinda buggy. In fact, my iPhone's rather buggy and laggy lately after updating to 3.0... =(

@BlueHeng,
Er just what are the issues/problems you're facing with BeeJiveIM?!

I guess everyone's taking advantage of it's 9.99 pricing to purchase the app before it goes back up to 15.99!

Well I've been using BeeJive even before the 3.0 update. Back then it was great. Really stable and all. But just now it(beejive 3.0) just keeps hanging every now and then after the update. I'm currently doing a full reset to factory settings and restoring it now. Hopefully it'll fix the lag issues with my iPhone and BeeJive as well.

I'm on IM+ 3.0 lite but I'll be buying the full version soon. In fact, the Lite version serves me well except that nasty advertising bar. Thing I'll just buy it.
Wow... USD$94.99 is no small deal. Might as well get a standalone navigation device. No need to worry about battery operating time since its a dedicated device. And no crashes. Last time on my WinMo, Symbian phones with GMXT installed... at times it would just pop off and kick back to the home screen, right before I am expecting an exit. What would you do? Stop and reset? Hahaha! I guess those platforms have always been nasty. I don't know about iPhone though, but I am expecting something better on the experience.

Having said that, I would rather buy a proper device and be done with it. Also,  you get to update your maps for free (in the case of Garmin and the Malsingmap collaboration). The rest of the maps... well you can always  tongue.gif

I couldn't agree more.... GPS devices are so cheap nowadays. If it's about AUD50 I would still consider.. but then again I guess that's a really childish wish. tongue.gif

Beejive does not work like IM+. Beejive, in the past stores all your message, when you're not loggen on to teh app on your iPhone, and displays them when you log in back again. This is why it is the most preferred IM app compared to the others, because it FEELS seamless because you do not lose a single PM at al, it gets delivered to your account when you relogin back again. Now, with 3.0, Beejive attempts to eliminate that process of storing those messages by pushing it to you instead, using the Push Notification feature. IM+ however, all this while, have not had such a feature like Beejive, and only offers to send your unread PM by pushing it to a designated email address, and set that email to be pushed back to your email mailbox on your iPhone. To me, this method is not elegant and requires constant cleaning of your mailbox. Beejive works better with their keep-your-PM-till-you-log-in, and now if their Push Notification works, should be even better.

My Beejive is constantly giving me "cant connect to host" error now. So much for hoping for their best. sad.gif

You're not the only one with that problem. I'm having problems connecting to the host all the sudden. Could be some fault at the server side.

I've been trying out Syngic Australia for the past couple of days and here's my short review of it.

The interface is great, extremely smooth and fast response. It's able to support portrait or landscape. Has got 3D and 2D view with loads of POIs.

But here comes the crappy part... after I've entered my desired destination and got a 3/4 bar signal, the triangular marker won't seem to move properly. It jerks back and forth quite often. To make things worst, I noticed that the marker is probably somewhere about 2-3 seconds behind my actual position while in the moving car. (Do note that on the same time I have my good old HP 612c Navigator's Garmin Mobile XT running at the same time which doesn't have similar problems)

The few possible explanations for this:
1. iPhone 3G's GPS receiver might not powerful enough.
2. iPhone 3GS might have a better GPS receiver + processor for turn-by-turn apps to work properly.
3. My iPhone 3G unit might be faulty somehow.
4. Both iPhone 3G and 3GS users might have to face that the GPS receiver in iPhones aren't good enough for proper turn-by-turn applications (without extra booster or some sort)

im sure all da new owners wud agree with this...

and i cant agree more to tink's statement too..but ya, it'll take sm time, sm heavy load apps n all that,, then maybe it wud start to show sm wear n tear...
otherwise these old apps cant make it sweat a drop..tongue.gif

Now the thing I'm curious to know is how well is it gonna perform for turn-by-turn apps. Apparently my 3G is horrible at it. Perhaps it wasn't built with turn-by-turn in mind.

It's just like any GPS device. Just use your iTunes, go appstore, purchase, download, sync into your iPhone and run the application. I've posted some screenshots few pages back. Go look.

I can say for sure that the 3Gs does perform faster than the 3G. While turning the phone from portrait to landscape, the safari browser's response time is much quicker than the 3G. (though what disappoints me most is that the laggy animation still remains but less compared to the 3G)
