red bull...livita...

adequate lighting...

try doing light exercises once you start feeling sleepy while studying.

avoid sugary stuff like biscuits, chocolates, chewing gum or sweets while studying. sugar makes sleepiness even worse.

Livita has taurine. You might wanna check out what taurine does, medically.

I think this is your problem:
Too heavy lunch with too much carbs.
Keep your lunch light with less carbs. Large amounts of carbs will make you sleepy about 1-2 hours after lunch. Happens to me in the office too.

It might also got nothing to do about sleepiness, it's just that your brains doesn't want you to study. So you get bored reading and revising. And your mind drifts away. -->Sleepy. X^D

Perhaps you'll need a different method for studying.
Writing short notes, drawing diagrams, strecth once a while, etc.

i thought it is the protein that causes the drowsiness?

Added on June 21, 2009, 1:36 pmactually TS, the mentality do play large role in shaping your energetic-ness
when u have less motivation, ur mind tends to go in a more relaxed mode, try to gather a few friends and do study together outside of home, preferably in library, Starbucks or oldtown, the environment there hardly make u asleep

Protein has almost nothing to do with disturbing the pattern of your insulin. It's the carbs .

the problem is your mind..if your mind set to sleep/dont want to study..so you become sleepy laa..

u need more motivation..study for 45 minutes..rest 15 minutes might help... watch some motivation drama if u have a time such as Dragon Zakura..it helped me during my study before.. 2 years ago..

now working.miss the study..

Drink more tea.

Tea contains theophylline which act similarly as caffeine.

The best way to stay awake is still adequate rest.
