There is no miracle in medicine, especially hocus phocus thing. EVerything in medicine has evidence based. The reason why the people being cheated is because they believe and want to find the simple and shortest solution for the trouble they had. For examples, if people had tumour that need operation, they rather want to get 'magic' operation because fear of pain and etc. At the end, they will landed at the hospital and went through what they afraid of before. Many people justify based on popularity even it is illogical and no sense at all.
