Umm... I need some litter training tips...

I have 3 cats--- actually 3 of them are litter box trained.

But somehow my male cat started pee at the front door. We try mop the floor with those floor cleaner so that the smell doesn't stay.... Yet he still does it again and again.

AND NOT ONLY THAT. He kept peeing on my papers... A4 papers / books and bags on my floor in my room. He did not pee on my carpet in my room.. but rather.. papers or books! THen I had to close my room 24 /7...

Everytime I find him peeing at the wrong place I would take him to the litter box. But he wont pee there. He only poo there.
It's kinda frustrating. When he first came he does use the litter box....

How old is ur cat?
I heard that OLD male cat cant control when to pee.
Need to be caged though..
*
oh.. he's quite old liao lerh... sad.gif
but he know how to choose spots wan worh. like.. front doors and on books and bags.
T__T if he can't control when to pee he wouldn't choose such a 'nice' place right?
AHH. I'm so out of ideas. He doesn't seem to understand when I ask him to use litter box =__=

I don't wanna put him in cage... no other solution...?

its not like u cage your cat forever..

just cage your cat for training purpose. he cannot go any other place in cage, so he will poo and pee in the litter box. if u see that happen for alot of them, then release your cat free.. keep the box some.. since it has poo and pee smell already..

u need to clean infront door any all places that he poo and pee before. make sure no more smell.

if still happen.. normally this due to sickness in cat. normally bladder problem.
*
oh.. thank you! biggrin.gif I shall try... and if cannot den i guess vet is the best solution.

Can I ask how often do we bring our cats to vet? Like once a month for a normal health checkup?
And how much does the fee range from...?

only bring if they fall sick. you can actually see if your cat is sick or not. (if u really know your cat lah)

basically each cat will go atleast 1 time per year for vaccine.

deworm? i do myself.. just buy the pills from the vet.

range for vaccine is around RM40-50 per cat per year.

if sick around rm50-100 depending on what case. very hard to tell you the price.
*
oh... But usually if we have a newly brought in cat we have to bring her to vet asap? To check if everything is okay... (I'm afraid later if I go and the vet asked me what's wrong and I have nothing to say...)

I deworm my other cats with liquid type of medicine... Are pills better than liquid? I bought them from a petstore... should I buy them from the vet instead...?

p/s you mention telur kutu.. did u see kutu? they normally jump around and very fast. if you see something like debu debu on the fur (not the skin).. that is lice... u can obvious see this if your cat is white or black color. on the fur nampak macam ada debu or white bintik on bulu. if you see it closely, that thing is moving up and down... u can see it around the face area.
*
if it's lice how ar? Omg my new kitten got I think. on the furrr. I thought it was like dust/ scalp or something and it moved. den i got shocked. o___O Does the frontline spray works? Cuz I'm using it on her T___T If not all my other cats kena (omg face)

the first time visit normally the vet will check if the cat is sick or not.. check for parasites... if everything ok, cukup umur, vet will deworm and vaccine.

then u need to come again next month for check up and vaccine again.

for first timer... u need 2 times vaccine.. then follow by one time a year.

---

that deworm liquid type is for kitten age 8 weeks to 16 weeks. liquid type won't work that good for bigger cat.

yeap frontline will work, and bath with fleas shampoo. smile.gif
*
oh... Thank you!
I was wondering if the lice/fleas comb for human can be used for cats. My friend told me to buy it from pharmacy. o_o
But my cats hair is quite thin... wouldn't the comb for human be very big for them?
I went to small petshop just now but the lady told me they don't have the comb... Pharmacy one can ah?

@pumpkin
I've never seen that before in any petshop yet.
haha. I assume the cat enters through the hole. The compartment with net is where the kitty will sit and do her business and the bottom of the net is connected to the empty compartment where all the sand / crystals will be.
.___.
but i think not all cat will use it. Since it's closed--- the litter box may have strong odor inside. And not all cats like to be in closed space like that.
the space abit small also ah .____. (my fat adult cat can't even enter.)
But I think it's quite a clean litterbox and may be easier to clean too.
Maybe you can order from Jpn or wait till it get released here. Thank you for showing biggrin.gif Very interesting... new stuff for me.

@elfreakz: oh yeah. Haha. Do you prefer clumping litter or the crystal silica? been switching alot because of my mother dry.gif

since i have many cats so the cheapest is clay type. there's a shop selling 25kg for RM60. so it like :

rm2.4 = 1kg
rm12 = 5kg / 5L
rm24 = 10kg / 10L

the brand is kitty cat.. last time they selling it in a blue box type...

---

last time i used cystal.. i dont really like it.. its expensive stuff if u have multi cat in the house...

i also try OKO Plus.. not bad but expensive aswell.
*
thx! haha. my mom kept complaining about the price of the crystals. I don't know--- I just prefer them better. I'll consider which to use more. cuz I have 3 cats but only 2 litter box. @.@

yeah...i wonder how big is the hole. i did worry my long hair kitten might not be able to enter if she continues grow wider  laugh.gif
and i am not sure if the my babies willing to enter, was thinking wanna give them a try.
i wanted to order online, but the problem is i cant understand those japanese words.  sad.gif
*
I think there's something called litter mat that you can put outside the litter box. Look like some normal plastic mat or something.
Haha, would be a waste if your babies refuse to enter. sweat.gif Jotaro is right. hahah--- since they do not provide english translation I guess they don't really deliver their goods too far away.
I read somewhere bigger litterbox is more inviting for cats to use them. Not so sure. Hahah but my litter box is huge due to my super huge cat. His doesn't seem to stop growing unsure.gif

Have to give up snake due to some reason  sad.gif
*
big cats are expensive. x_X i adopted all my cats. xD my father had this friend that had 19 cats (all the same as that picture of my cat). so he gave me 2 since it's getting out of hand. these cats need alot grooming wan.. so unless you have time to comb them and all; get a cat with short fur. cats pretty independent. but very manja wan ah =_= it gets annoying when i got alot of work to do
