Saw 1 AOC 2434pw yesterday night,RM710. I will probably be getting this if i cannot locate Asus 26" VK/VM.

Almost all items are relatively more expensive in Penang . What to do....unless go down to KL to buy but that end up even more.

Frankly, i'm still looking for Asus VK/VM 26" lcd but unable to locate one as well. Price should be very competitive now. I still could make up my mind whether to go for LCD TV or LCD monitor. I looking for solution to enable me to connect to my PC(DVI), PS3(HDMI), X360(HDMI/Component) and PS2(Component) at once, so ports and interfaces is very important to me.

Just now went to Prangin Mall to check up Samsung P2370. A very nice LED backlight LCD monitor with TOC. The touch control panel is very nicely designed. The disadvantage is it only has DVI , no component, no HDMI, no AV. Price is quote attractive, at RM870.

Just bought myself a Samsung 2494HS(5ms, 50000:1DC, Full HD), RM799+ 4G thumb drive FOC. Tested it with some game. It produces way better picture than my aging Dell 2407wpc, especially on dark area.
I don't quite like the touch sensitive panel control though, i would prefer the old button method. The touch is so sensitive that you don't have to actually touch the panel, just near it is enough to activate the button.
Anyone here using this model? Care to share the setting? I've yet to calibrate my unit.

P2370 has only DVI-I connector and brightness is 250 while P2350 has DVI-D and 15 D-SUB and brightness of 300.
I was considering this two unit as well before i made my purchase. I choosed 2494HS over this two models mainly due to 2494 has HDMI, D-SUB and DVI.

I hate seeing black bar on top and bottom when gaming in HD(PS3/X360). That is why i swap my Dell 24" out with this one.

The different is only on 2ms vs 5ms, you can't possibly observe the different with our naked eye. Beside, those figure are just a marketing gimmick. Basically, 2ms will theoratically get you a maximum refresh rate of 500Hz, while 5ms is 200Hz. Both are way better than your 59 or 60Hz lcd monitor can handle.

HDMI is the prefered connector for PS3 or even X360. Of course there are also adaptor available to convert to various connector, but i prefer native connector.
I'm afraid that Samsung range which offer a good display, design with HDMI is very limited, in this case only T240 or 2494HS. While in Taiwan there is more choice available, P2450H Lavendar.

HDMI port is a reason why i choose 2494HS over P2370/P2350.

Now a day, Samsung produce very good quality panel with 0 dead/stuck pixel. But be safe than sorry, check on spot for dead/stuck pixel before paying the money.

Yesterday downloaded magic tuner premium from Samsung site and did a simple calibration on my new toy, Samsung 2494HS. Wow, it really impress me. The picture is very vivid and vibrant, my dell 2407wpc can never reach that kind of level. Still remember pairing my X360 with my 2407wpc provided me with the worse image on screen even thru. component cable. But this Samsung is really shine.

Look like dithering for me, could some one confirm the panel in use is 8 or 6 bits?

If you take on your monitor head on there is not much different between IPS or TN, unless you sit on the side to play your game.
I would rather spend the different on upgrading other component.

Heard the DigitalBay staff, they are having dead pixel claim from LG, thats why they don't deal with LG anymore.
Get the 2494HS, you will be speechless especially pair it with X360 or PS3. Good range of connectors as well.
Most importantly, its cheap only RM799.
I'm using one now, after minor tuning with MagicTune, the color is very vivid, vibrant and life like. My Dell 24" can never produce that level of vibrancy and tone.

Don't fall into marketing talk. Even the best 200Hz LCD would be able to cope with this refresh rate, you need 500Hz refresh rate screen or FPS of more than 500 to see the different (and our human eye won't be able to observe that as well).
5ms is more than enough. Your lcd only running at 59/60Hz, 5ms will cater for up to 200Hz refresh rate or 200FPS equivalent. Now tell me, are you running your game at 200FPS?
So, 5ms or 2ms is just a gimmick or psychology effect.

Can it be motion blur in effect? Now a day many games likes to employ motion blur on fast moving object to enhance its feel. As i said you should not be able to notice the blurriness due to your LCD only functioning at 59/60Hz. 2ms/5ms is impossible to observe at that refresh rate.

There are two model available, one from Samsung running at 120hz, 2233RZ and the other one Viewsonic VX2265wm. They are 3D ready. Unfortunately, both also support only supports 1680x1050.

With 120Hz, you need dual-dvi for it to work.

Saw a couple units of AOC Angelo in Digital Bay, Jusco Seberang Prai. Saw the demo on AOC not really good in image but that could be due to the source of the media played.
They have a lot of model on display: Samsung P2350, Samsung P2370, Samsung LD220, Samsung 2494HS, AOC 2343sw and some 19"LG.

After the comparison among them, i took 2494HS mainly due to its superb color reproduction and rich connectivity, D-SUB,DVI and HDMI.

Heard good from Viewsonic but very hard to come by in Penang, so have to make do with 2494HS.

Quite cheap, i bought my with RM799 and it comes with 4G Thumb drive FOC.
