Ballmer announces 2010 Xbox 360 at The Executive Club ChicagoThursday, June 18, 2009 14:45 Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer spoke at The Executive’s Club of Chicago today, discussing “the role of innovation in changing economic times.” TG Daily covered the event live from the Hilton Chicago. During his speech he addressed many economic issues, and touched on the importance of innovation. However, it was his Xbox announcement which has our publication excited. Rumors can be confirmed, as Ballmer stated openly during a speech on the recession to those in attendance at the Executives Club in Chicago, a new Xbox 360 will hit the store shelves in 2010. The new device will be equipped with technology that is “really, really, close” to an actuality. The console, which was described as having a “natural interface,” will have a built in camera with the ability to recognize movement and voice. With no official release, those were all of the details that were shared. SourceRumors most of the time .... are true ...

They cant make a new powerful hardware upgrade just for Natal cause it will make previous customer unhappy.
They already clarify that the old console will work perfectly with it.
I'm still going with the New SKU and valhalla chip

I'm still going with the New SKU and valhalla chip they 're not making a new powerful hardware upgrade just for Natal, rumours said same hardware but upgraded bcos game developers complaining that they're already maxed out the console power ... so it's for the game not Natal. M$ already made a lot of unhappy customers, the 3rrod owner, the "upgraded" n more reliable Xbox360 will make more happy customer n encourage 3rrod console owner to buy new console.

QUOTE(MmxZero @ Jun 19 2009, 12:26 PM) Tell me, which developer told MS that? Electronic Arts ... well ... they 're not necessary correct abt it, but if M$ still want EA continue to produce games for Xbox360, then better listen to their opinion. QUOTE EA VP claims they have 'maxed out' the XBOX 360
In an interview with the Official Xbox Magazine during E3 last week, Patrick Soderlund, senior vice-president of EA games Europe, states that they have "maxed out" the XBOX 360 console, leaving very little or no headroom for future titles. He also added that they "haven't maxed out the PS3" and are "getting more power" out of Sony's console right now.
Soderlund was impressed with Microsoft's lineup at E3, especially Project Natal. He says he likes the Natal and calls it "cool" and "interesting". Project Natal, Microsoft's idea of "controller-free gaming and entertainment experience" may help spur newer ways of gaming, thus creating that little extra head room for game development on the 360. Soderlund feels that Microsoft's strong presence at E3 will keep competitors on their toes. Their showcase was strong enough to make the 360 Soderlund's "personal favourite console".
"I think Microsoft is on a roll right now. They're doing really well. If I was Sony, I would have a headache, to be honest."
But he hasn't completely written off Sony: "Sony has a lot of good games this year. If you go to their booth, there's a very consistent, high quality product line-up and that will help them."
Microsoft should take this matter seriously considering that they have pledged a ten year lifecycle for the XBOX 360, which is similar to Sony's plan for all of its consoles. Shane Kim, corporate vice-president for strategy and business development at Microsoft's game division, "firmly" believes that the 360 can last well into 2015.

QUOTE(defaultname365 @ Jun 19 2009, 01:08 PM) Nice. Guess Jasper ain't gonna lead no more. M$ denied it ... again ... now ... we only can wait n see, maybe it's not final yet (but leak from their own ceo's big mouth), or they want to keep it a secret from their rival or don't want the public to know abt it so that they wont hold their money in the wallet n wait till next year ... QUOTE Microsoft's Director of Product Management for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live Aaron Greenberg told Kotaku "There will be no new console." QUOTE We've requested a transcript of Mr. Ballmer's speech from Executive's Club of Chicago and will follow up when and if it becomes available. http://kotaku.com/5296104/microsoft-there-...-no-new-console

But most xenon users 3rod already. Also, think of the pricing of the new 360, if it does come with Natal and other goodies, there is sure to be a price hike.

Maybe Natal will bundle with Elite set ... arcade n go pro can buy Natal as add-on ... just my guess. Also, new xbox360 probably will use Valhalla chip ... so cheaper to produce. M$ have work in progress for new media which have few times more capacity than blu-ray. So, tough job ahead for sony in this console war. This post has been edited by stormaker: Jun 19 2009, 04:25 PM
