You're doing a POC on WatchGuard? Well, you won't get the figures here since typically no responsible SysAdm or NetworkAdm will gloat about what fw is deployed. What you can do is to get the WatchGuard Account Manager to connect you with other WatchGuard customers, than you may ask them etc and go through reviews etc. From my experience, WatchGuard is ok for SME's, but not for a full scale Enterprise especially a telco or ISPs. |

QUOTE(c30238 @ Jun 16 2009, 11:00 PM) Hi, would like to know how many companies are using watchguard?? A good firewall is a firewall that does basic packet/application level filtering. Yes, are Watchguard does do them quite well.Is it alot? How good is it? compare to others brand like cisco, juniper, sonicwall etc Another, even as important thing to think about is: 1. What are you planning to do with it? A first level? 2nd?, think about the design... 2. Are you comfortable to manage it? (Is the company gonna send you to some training?) 3. Will it scale enough for future expansion? 4. Will it work with your existing environment? 5. Support/Maintenance? Some of the "soft" requirements that you MUST think about ... In my view, any firewall is as good as the person who implements it Oh by the way, Cisco's firewall suck! Bad interface, complicated, complex, simply ugly... If you run lots of MS IISes...you might wanna consider using MS ISA Server Cheers Sanjay - Microsoft MVP - Enterprise Security |

Hi:
WatchGuard is a reliable and powerful firewall. It's come with UTM services and also Gigabit port for middle range model. WatchGUard is widely use by Private SME and Government in Malaysia. Please feel free to contact me should you need any assistant. We are appointed WatchGuard Professional Partner in Malaysia. Cheers, Kenny Wong |
