QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jul 13 2009, 04:05 PM) Just bought the Panasonic m4/3 45-200mm telephoto zoom lens. Will test it later on the Frankfurt trip. How much and where u bought the pana 45-200mm?Bloody YL is poisoning me, they're dangling the FL-14 flash infront of me. I'm interested too. Can't find stock unless order. |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jul 13 2009, 08:00 PM) Bintang Maju in Maju Junction. Got it at Shashinki's price of RM1485. YL is offering me RM1390, but I'm not the type that waits. Thanks. How much Bintang Maju offer?End of the month with be a toss-up between FL-36R, or staying in theme with white, with the FL-15 flash. The fact that the FL-15 flash does not tilt is giving me second thoughts. But FL-36R is spoiling the whole look with its stonkin' black color. The price is quite steep in Malaysia here, singapore just around $460. |

I have not much doubts on low light photos capabilities of E-P1, instead i worry about the AF performance at low light, especially without assist lamp

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jul 14 2009, 03:48 PM) I am thankful that I am not predisposed with the previous experiences using DSLRs and about the transition between the different sizes. My take is that Im more inclined to carry lighter, smaller equipments than bulkier ones. My non-experience on how DSLR pictures and their quality looks like also keeps my expectation low. I'd like to keep it that way. But don't u think it much larger than PnS since u said u only exposed to PnS only prior to this.I'm moving up from PnS so size is basically an easy transition by the way. No chimneys or laser cannons on my chest, no thanks. QUOTE(hellfire8888 @ Jul 14 2009, 03:49 PM) still deciding a G1 or this |

Cool guys, i think hellfire just being sarcastic in his blog.
It is ok to state pros and cons as long as it is fact. Let me analyze hellfire cons based on my own opinion and usage 1. No Auto focus assist light... -> this is really a pain of a$$ for me and the biggest doubt to my purchase 2. No build in flash.. -> it is important whn go clubing or yumcha, but if go out for travel, it doesn't matter as i'll use FL36 anyway. if street shoot, i won't use flash. Understandable due to the size reduction of EP1 3. No viewfinder.. -> I can live with it. If i want it, the only reason is to reduce power consumption from LCD 4. No remote wireless commander.. -> not an issue for me, i dun shoot wireless 5. Not much m4/3 lens available.. -> not an issue for me, no $ to buy anyway 6. No matching pouch at the moment.. -> dun like use pouch, love to let it naked 7. Not cheap -> True, i think fair value should be 2200-2300, if too cheap will eventually kill their own entry E-series DSLR 8. Resolution of LCD not the highest in industry.. -> higher is good, but sometimes higher made the picture in LCD looks much nicer than on PC, i admit that I fooled by nice LCD from the DSLR i have previously 9. No build in GPS.. -> not even in my mind at all 10. No buildin wireless card... -> not even in my mind at all |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jul 15 2009, 11:44 PM) It does actually. The section that attaches to the clip does get entangled sometimes. I'm waiting for September for the white strap + holster combo as per my avatar, it looks elegant that way. It made me extra clumsier as my palm is prone to sweating when I'm trying to compose a shot. Are there any other options that is much better than the included strap? I was informed that metal clip-ons is a no-no that it may be prone to breakage, plus the clink from the metal-on-metal may slip into your movie recording. Hand strap maybe? But I dont know if there are any that is compatible with the E-P1. Most probably I'll just use back my Optech strap that I used on DSLR previously. It is better than normal strap to distribute weight.Handstrap is a good idea but not sure any handstrap that compatible with EP1 or not currently. I really found the clip placement odd, it did get on my way how I hold camera normally, unless i change my holding style, else i feel my palm pain. Well, nothing is perfect I think |

Expensive meh?
http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-GF1-Fo...51866476&sr=1-1 USD900 (RM3100) with 20mm f1.7 pancake. The 20m f1.7 alone already cost around 1k. I lost my interest on E-P1 when i tested the AF This post has been edited by harrychoo: Sep 2 2009, 12:46 PM |

QUOTE(seaotter @ Sep 2 2009, 12:51 PM) There will be one BIG problem i can forsee - panasonic not having enough units to go around the world. I agreed on Panasonic not having enough units to ship. It might even delay for 2-3months before coming here, just like the GH1.Also, Panasonic G series isnt that well-known in Malaysia - shadowed by the Canon G series. harry: still, for a camera with only the pancake lens - that is not really cheap, like the E-P1. And without IBIS, feel not so confident la Dam those Panasonic sales. G1 and GH1 are not well known in Malaysia but this GF1 might changed it judging from the hot reception of E-P1 here. E-P1 with 17mm going for RM2600 here, and the USD900 is Amazon price, might be listed for 2800-2900 street price in Malaysia when it reached here so i don't really see it being labeled as expensive unless u labeled E-P1 being expensive as well. In body IS is useful when u want to use alot different lenses which i dun see a need for me. Most important for me is this GF1's AF speed can be as fast as G1/GH1 which E-P1 failed terribly.
