Interesting remark I found in flickr (in contrary to all the positive reviews / feedbacks)

QUOTE
I got the EPL1 and the SLOW autofocus is driving me crazy.. this may have to go back to the store.. it hunts even in the daytime outdoors.. think i'll pick up a GF1.. The bounce flash doesn't work like you would think.. you don't get even lighting you get kind of a bright top half and dark bottom half on an indoor picture.. you can adjust the flash but I still cant get it right.. and the menus are bad.. That said, the pictures and colors are very nice right out of the camera.. but whatever

If i'm going to get a tele lens for my GF1, 45-200mm will be the one I gonna get (OIS being the obvious factor)

I think Panasonic will launch a 100-300mm lens this year. So be patience.

That's even better

I hope it's a friendly price

Anyways, anyone knows where can I get Nat Geo strap in retail stores similar like this? http://shashinki.com/shop/national-geograp...rap-p-1785.html or even cheaper http://yamiya.com.my/store/product.php?pro...&cat=288&page=1
Thinking of getting it to pair it up with my white camera. Or should I just get it from ShaShinki/Yamiya? I'm not a fan of online stores other than those who posted in the forums.

Shashinki (or even Yamiya) should be safe, I have purchased a Crumpler bag in Shashinki before.

I am using AFS already bro, but it's kinda hard to lock on focus, on the subject I am intended to shoot. I mean the real close macro tongue.gif
*
But how close?

Apart of the suggestion from other folks, there's also a minimum focus distance you need to take into consideration. It's 0.2m for 20mm lens and 0.3m for 14-45mm lens (assuming you're using one of these)

Hellfire has suggested to combine 43 and m43 thread... what you guys think?

will it be confusing if suddenly 43 people come in asking about 43 stuff like mirror lock and stuff like that
and m43 people will  icon_question.gif  ? tongue.gif
*
I think maintaining a dedicated m43 thread will be great, since they are pretty much different things - no mirror, different lens mount and user group etc.

Just my 2 cents

Sell your kidney to buy it biggrin.gif

That's "the" lens for M43 (if you're talking about native lens)

Well, sling the neckstrap around your neck before you try any stuns. That's what I normally do for safety precaution.

Thanks, that's actually a good idea!

See their FAQ
http://noktor.com/faq.php

Where are Noktor lenses manufactured?
The HyperPrime 50mm F0.95 is manufactured in Japan by Goyo Optical Inc.

And take a look at Goyo Optical website:
http://www.goyooptical.com/

It seems like they use Goyo's CCTV lens and convert the lens mount to suit M43. It's probably much cheaper if you source for a CCTV lens yourself and get a C-mount adapter

with 20mm and 14-45mm in my lineup now, I'm now targeting the 7-14mm next (prefer shooting wide than tele)

But that will be at least one year from now since the lens itself is more expensive than the camera + kit lens

should i go for ep2 or gf1 ?
dilemma...i read a lot review, and both of it have pros and cons..
but still i cant decide which one should i go..
any magic words from pros and sifus ? smile.gif

Both are good cameras. At the end of the day it's up to personal preference. You probably know it already since you've read a lot of review, so I'm probably stating the obvious:

Get E-P2 if you:
- Really need the great EVF bundled with it
- Have a lot of legacy lenses and planning to use them on your Micro Four Thirds (E-P2 has In-body image stabilizer, GF-1 depends on Lens)
- Want better JPEG out of camera (the colour is known to be more vibrant compare to GF-1)

Get GF-1 if you:
- Need faster AF speed
- Need better LCD screen
- Need the built-in flash
