QUOTE(xandman @ Jul 14 2009, 10:19 PM) it's not overpriced.... it's priced to rival the potential contender...G1....another micro 4/3 adopter... pricing may change in the future to reflect the current situation of micro 4/3 cams at that time... *dreaming on* a micro 4/3 Leica M! *dreaming off* Added on July 14, 2009, 10:22 pmgogo.... thx for the pics... but i m not asking for pics... i can get that from Mr. String but i'd like to know how does the E-P1 handles manual focus... You should read dpreview for the leica lenses info http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1041Because i have read people using zeiss, leica, volt, nikon AND canon lenses on the E-P1. Manual focus apaprently is a dream on the e-p1

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jul 15 2009, 01:47 PM) Thanks. I can finally say I've found the lowest denominator in the human evolution cycle. Simply put, he's an idiot. Hey string - some question. Where did you get your camera from? how many shots are you getting so far with one battery? How long the battery needs to recharge?

QUOTE(xandman @ Jul 15 2009, 03:14 PM) the more i stay here... the more i want this PEN. argh! O Stringy One (Stringfellow). Poison me with your pics. Heh. Thank god you didnt go to the olympus user group meetup then. I was already poisoned since last year when olympus showed the mockup. Then the leaks started to get out a couple of months ago. By then i was already almost committed. Then Olympus did the E-P1 meetup. Habis. Now just waiting for my money to come in to get the camera. Also stringfellow: do you hang your camera around your neck or you have a small bag for the whole kit?

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jul 15 2009, 03:39 PM) Xandman & Seaotter, If you like, I can let you try it out this Friday. I have to be at KLIA early in the morning (7am) to pick up a unit of iPhone 3G[S], and I should be free the entire day after that. I need all the pointers I can get, and I want to learn. You will be surprised how much of a noob I am when it comes to photography. We can set the meet-up at a venue convenient for everyone, and you pros can test it out, and I'll learn from you guys. I know how to make "this thing blur" here, and "that thing clear there" but that is probably the extent of my skills.  Only this Friday I'm free. Tomorrow got a course in Kelana Jaya, and Saturday I'm off to Frankfurt. So, your call. Oh wow, i am called a pro  Unfortunately you mislabel me with that misnomer haha. I will be free after prayers till before 6 - so anywhere in subang/kj would be nice. Now wait for Xandman. Also you will make me want (WANT) the Pen more ;_;

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jul 15 2009, 07:10 PM) Alrighty then. Seaotter if you are still keen, Friday after 2pm I can still make it. Need to bring notepad to jot down some pointers from you. Where can we meet up? QUOTE(xandman @ Jul 16 2009, 08:50 AM) .......oh one more thing... is there a 'body only' option for this baby? bcoz an ultra wide heliar juz caught my attention! 12mm bebeh! Unfortunately there is no body only option as yet. How much is the heliar? Because panasonic has just released a 7-14 (SEVEN MM~!!!) lens for the micro 4/3rds. So its a 35mm equivalant of 14 mm. That is WIDE. do check how it looks like here http://www.four-thirds.org/en/products/matching/index.html

QUOTE(xandman @ Jul 16 2009, 09:52 AM) the heliar is arnd 2k. 7-14??? thats very wide indeed! but its panasonic glass... not German glass! here's some real world and lab samples of the 7-14 glass http://dc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/review/...715_302157.htmlpersonally i want to wait for olympus's take on this (or even a new glass based on their 4/3 7-14) but damn the image samples looks good.... Added on July 16, 2009, 11:04 amguys - check this out. No other post production done other than resizing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRM7U9pfsQsAnd a short clip of the event. Straight from camera to youtube - no PP. I feel i spent the appropriate amount of money to get the E-P1 event though its cheaper else where. Its the follies of being the 'FIRST~~!' people to get it, but i am really liking this camera. Have a bit more poison guys :3

Seaotter... where did u get urs from? I got mine from a camera shop in subang parade. I did pay a bit more than the shops you can find in KL, but it was less than the 2999 advertised by Olympus malaysia.

 Have some more poison from the E-P1. ISO1600 f3.5@ 1.6 seconds. Photoshoped via manipulating the curves and cropping off glass reflection. Nothing more
