wait for the 14-150 for mFt.. great outdoor lens
*
yeah..14-150 would be a great travel lense together with the pana 20mm which is already stellar(i am using it now)..

Hellfire,
If not mistaken, are you using the 7-14mm ultra wide lense now? How's the performance? :-)

before you sell, can do testing for us?

Shoot something using both lens and do comparison in terms of sharpness, speed, bokehness etc..
Probably you can try to use f/1.7 and f/2.8... tongue.gif tongue.gif  drool.gif

The Pana 20mm & Oly 17mm are both great lenses.
After testing both, I decided to fork my $$$ on the Pana 20mm.
here are my analysis:
Pros for Pana 20mm
- at f1.7 its about 1 stop faster. That's important when you want to shoot in low-light esp. street photography
- at all focal length its sharper, especially at edges and corner
- I seems to like the bokeh better eventhough both bokeh performance are good but not stellar.

Pros for Oly 17mm
- slightly lighter and smaller
- silver color matches nicely with a silver PEN! :-)
- Better control on vignette

Bottom line is, I enjoy using both lenses but one have to go! :-)

wow...your comment a bit turn off my appetite ...might want to try it myself first b4 i sell myself on it.. haha.. or else will choose other model..

and also 'as low as' is not really suit to be used...should be 'as high as'  blush.gif tongue.gif

Hi Hico,
I agree with David.
Went to PC Fair to test the E-P2. Its a pre-production unit, so the EVF is abit "washed-out and noisy" during low light shoot.
Didn't notice any speed difference in the AF speed......

Guess its best to wait for the production unit which according to the shops, will be out in the market next week. Pre-booking are accepted.

So i guess we just have to wait....only black version available for now...i still love my silver E-P1..what a classic look!! :-)

true..i really love silver e-p1..classic look.. but e-p2 silver version with brown leather beside not really nice.. i still prefer black colour at least match the whole body..

so you book yours oledi??? i saw it got free 8gb sd card for christmas promotion..not bad..at least got bundle something..  drool.gif

Currently the only E-P2 available is the shiny black. The silver version with brown leather grip is only available in Japan market unfortunately.

I am still thinking hard to decide on E-P2. If the production model improves on the AF speed, EVF & lower noise level, I might just sell off my E-P1 and upgrade. Else the E-P1 is fantastic camera!!

silver is very cool..but black is also nice.. i like black more too! get it then at least i got companion...haha ..if not i also scare scare wan to get it.... jk  rclxms.gif

i think i will wait till i hold it and test it myself then decide wan it or not.. at least i feel GF1 is very nice apart from the optical IS on the lens which is not convinient to exchange lens but its cheaper a lot..EVF is not a must to me currently yet.. now percentage to get either camera in my heart is GF1 - 60% , E-P2 - 40%...still waiting for more review abt e-p2 too..  blush.gif

Added on December 8, 2009, 6:46 pmGood day to you. Sorry for my late reply. The EP-2 will be available in this weekend. Kindly visit your nearest retailer shop.

Good Morning....
What flash are you guys using on your E-P1/GF-1?

I am thinking of getting a small flash mainly for fill-in.
Tried the Fl-14, but the flash power is very inconsistent, perhaps need to improvise a flash diffuser for it...:-). But it definately looks cool on the E-P1 :-)

Interesting article comparing GF-1, E-P1 & K-7 in different ISO cropping.

Check out which camera is the winner here?

Which small bounce flash do you guys use for your E-P1/GF-1/E-P2?

I am looking for something lightweight but can also tilt and/or swivel, mainly for fill-in light

A few models which looks pretty cool on the E-P1.
- Metz 20-C2
- Metz 36-C2/C4
- Oly 36R
- Panasonic FL220

Thanks in advance

I would recommend the Olympus FL36R because it fits right into your requirements. The rest does offer tilt and swivel but are not TTL-capable. The Panny is usually a little expensive for the kind of performance it provides. Metz does have a 36-version with TTL but don't offer LCD display so you need to do settings on the camera which is troublesome while its higher end model is too big size.

Thanks David.
Will go and check out the price of the FL36R then....Metz 36 C4 is only Rm400 brand new...
