I've been a fan of these two phones E55 and E52 and is awaiting its release in Malaysia. Anybody have any idea when is this coming out?

Also to top that off, the nokia website took of the link to their e55... why? Does this mean E55 isn't coming out?

I'm very interested in E55, like to try out the half-QWERTY keypad. :-)

According to a local magazine, E55 has just been released. It is selling for a retail of RM1099, non official price is RM999. As for E52 no news yet. Do check with your local dealers on the phone availability as it is still yet to be officially announced by Nokia in the media (print).

agreed.better get E71. more worth for the keypad. unless you prefer newer symbian software which should not differ much..

Got mine on Sunday, at RM1150. Like it a lot, esp the button.

May I ask is it a original Nokia from AVAXX or Zitron?

I briefly played with one at Lowyat and they wanted RM1300. And like you said, the key button are STREETS ahead better than the N79.

sorry to poke in, but why get e52 over n82?

My reasons for opting for the E52 are:
1. The keypad.
2. Lighter weight
3. In theory, 50% longer battery life.

How E52 compare to 5800XM ? Price is almost same.
5800 has higher screen resolution which is a huge plus for web surfing.

Like to hear from actual user of E52. So how is it? Is the battery power as amazing as claimed?

well, the processor for E52 is 600Mhz, almost double the 5800xm.
and also landscape viewing will sort it out for websurfing.




Anyway with regards to the E55, I highly doubt that they will release that variation of E52 here.

Pls dun use Garmin bcos it will corrupt and not compatible with Nokia phones.

juz get mine e52..love it...camera is satisfying,light weight,nice keypad,longer batery life,can install ngage somemore,well built(aluminium)...plus price is cheaper compare to other e series...

With such big 1500mah battery, I wondered what's the need for extra car charger. Give us cheaper price instead lah.

yes..the volume is softer...i think all e series is like that..but still very pleased with it...

I just had my E52 for a week but haven got into heavy usage yet. But so far, it is OK.. didn't experience any auto shut-down.

Maybe I shld use my phone for 4-5 hrs of talking, then only will reveal the real result.

I'm keen in getting this phone as well, an upgrade for my old 6300

hm..been using for a month i thinks...no problem so far...3g n call usage for hours...nothing happens..

Anyone here use the phone as HSDPA modem (celcom 3G)?. because that is my main purpose to buy the phone.

U mean what sort of cable is short?

Yup!, the USB data cable is too short, but 'size/length doesn't matter' if it perform as it intended to do. 11 cm (the cable part only). Total length tip to tip, 19 cm.

After 5 days exploring ithe E52, (Note: it is my FIRST Symbian S60 phone), and I think I like it . Yes, it hangs, BUT, it happened when I was using Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.60, with too frequent of zoom in and zoom out. The program consoumed 100% of cpu resources (Energy Pro apps) , but, good thing was, I can make, receive calls and sms without any problem. Seem that Symbian OS is a good RTOS (RealTime OS). With an excellent task manager app (JBak TaskMan), I able to kill the Garmin process. Basically, the S60 is very stable and till today my E52 did not reboot by itself or totally hang yet. I love "JBak TaskMan", especially when handling wierd things, which are rarely qccurs.

Just as other mentioned, the speaker/sound need to be a bit more louder. Decent built quality and very impressive battery life. I can explore it whole day without worrying about battery too much.

GPS accuracy: Note, my Garmin Nuvi 755T, (best accuracy 2m), mmm, E52 is 15 at the best, but just good enough as a backup GPS .

Wifi: Great. I can associate with Linksys WAG54G2 @ WPA2 without any problem.

Sound, from headphone out. just OK, and with Westone UM3Xs, the treble is quite reccessed or rolled off. Not to demanding too much, and I don't bother to use the stock earphones, because, it did not fit nicely to my ears.

Built : E52 is thin and light, and, nice to hold too.The keys size and arrangement is good for SMS texting.

Here is my current Desktop... Yes, I like plain black dekstop. The theme that I use is called "Only Black" with default icons and fonts.

Conclusion: E52 is an Excellent practical phone, with minor flaws.

You can get the ori set at around MYR11xx + 1GB MicroSD.

p/s: Currently using the E52 as HSDPA modem . Nice, nice, nice... but, but but, Celcom 3G ...... sometime nice, sometime/most fhe time are bad Yes, when it is good, it is REALLY good Note: E52 max HSDPA dowlink speed is 10Mb/s, and 2Mb/s uplink wuth HSUPA

Got mine finally! Bought at rm1180 with 1gb memory card zitron warranty. so far so good.loving the keypad.

Are the earpiece sound really lower as reported by some?

earpiece volume is ok for me.performance wise..ok-ok la.lags sometimes but not as long as those 434mhz powered E series phones

Earpiece volume is OK, not too soft. Just enough to have chats for hours.
Lag? Not bad at all. Quite fast and snappy. The ovi (nokia) map app is good, very smooth, zoom and scroll. Make sure no unneccesary processes/task running in the back ground. Remember to EXIT applications, just to make sure it did not running in the back ground, which may consume some CPU resources.

both got built in GPS?

Yes, the E52 has built-in GPS and digital compass.

Anybody care to give real usage review? Strenght / weakness of this model. Thinking of getting one.

i bought this e52 two days ago. Bought at Nokia store Low Yat for RM 1270 + RM90 voucher. I tried to use the voucher to buy case (anything that would fit e52) but they don't have it instead I bought an in-car charger. You don't want to scratch the phone and I search all around handphone store and the answer is same 'Sorry, don't have' or 'Not yet'. Anyone can inform me when and where to buy e52 case. Tq

i like the feel and the form of the phone. Really pleased. As for today the software doesn't bother me much. Still learning.
