Hello motherboard_barai,
Have you checked what programs are loaded during startup ? Maybe you would like to share your PC specs with us to see how we can all assist you.

I've installed NIS 2009 version 16.5 on 2 PCs which are on PIV and with 512MB of RAM. Those 2 machines were slowed down as programs such as iTunes, Real Player and PowerDVD all start up together with Windows.

My recommendation for you is to use the trial version of Norton Utilies to inspect your startup programs, services & registry.

All trial versions of Norton products can be found at this link :

Cheers ! smile.gif

Well, I was using Kaspersky for 2 years...slow like shit...changed to NIS 2009...immediately solves all problem. And now just updated to NIS 2011. I can't imagine anyone says Kaspersky is fast...it is just as slow as the aging KungFu actor Jackie Chan....bleuhhh....

NIS FTW!!

Kaspersky still loses to NIS in terms of speed such as scanning, updating virus database , computer start up.

I switched to NIS 2009 from KIS 2009 and never looked back. My next option for better speed and detection rate is only ESET Smart Security 4 NOD 32.

2011 is actually FASTER than Avast...

2009-2010 just sux had many problems..

1 thing about norton is that u have to let it idle after u install it...
As in leave computer on idle for an hour... and then run a full scan....

Check out the latest NIS or Norton 360 v5 as it much faster, user friendly & uses very little resources and installs quite fast! smile.gif

I really agree with this. Some more the customer service are very good. They give me additional 30 days when I call them to ask further information. Nice ha
