I guess i'll go for the second option then tongue.gif

but then again roman might just say,

if you go to City, you might be stripped off your England captaincy. *grin*

so no pay raise tongue.gif

I think Kerplunk has a point. Why did he take so long of time to respond to all the talks of him moving to City?

I have to say that there is not much loyalty from players in football these days...
*
well for me he's the type that prefer silent more than responding to false and negative comments over things that he wouldn't want to do. Unlike lolnaldo, JT prefer to handle this matters calmly without harming his boss. the quality of a good players that's rerely seen nowdays in football story.

You're right in some points i agreed. if i was offered massive salary like him, i would also think about it twice. but when it comes to JT, he loves his fans, club and friends more that the money offered. since the offer took more than what everybody's expected, he might need sometimes to think on how to respond to both his side and the side that put an interest toward him.

For sure roman wanted to listen to his thought, what he thinks of the team, what he want as a player, even if his salary is more than lampard later, he clearly deserved it. Media speculated about him being unsatisfied with the lack of big signings this season clearly just a rumors to make him felt guilty and forced management to do what media wants. afterall they're just paper and selling stories that's hot. what media/tabloid want ?? money

Tabloids or not do not matter much in my opinion.Like Kerplunk pointed out, what takes him so long to rule out a move to City? And it actually takes him 1-2 weeks before he ruled out his move to city.He hesitated and his loyalty is in doubt. There are two possibilities.

I'll add one more :

3. Terry wants assurance from Roman Abramovich that he will not get jumpy and change the manager yet again. Great squad takes time to build, Jose Mourinho was an exception rather than norm. If things didn't go well for Chelsea this year, Carlo Ancelotti should be given at least another 2 years before asking for any big trophies. Having the same manager will help to keep the team together, keep the vision strong. Else, players like Lampard, Drogba could have left and that will break the team. So, he is using this situation as a point to present his case to Roman.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...england&cc=4716

QUOTE
Terry told Sky Sports News: "It's never been about a new deal, we've never spoken about a new contact over the past five weeks.

"It's never been about a new deal for John Terry. I've got three years left on my contract.

"I've been at Chelsea 14 years now and I aim to finish my career here."

Terry said he was more concerned about keeping the current team together, holding on to players like England team-mate Frank Lampard.

"I want these kind of players around me and I want these kind of players at Chelsea Football Club."

*I'm not a fan of any clubs, but I have to say Chelsea have a strong team this season. All the best.

A quote from Jose Mourinho:

QUOTE
'I like England where the fans are very passionate and make a game a beautiful occasion with an incredible atmosphere.

'I had many conversations before Chelsea and I decided on a divorce. It was difficult because we loved each other but the relationship went in one direction and it was best for everyopne.

'Since I left I became champion again but they have not been champions again. I keep winning and they don't.'

Carlo has brought over someone from Milan to work with him as his assistant. Hence, we would like to welcome Bruno de Michelis to the club. His ability to speak English fluently will be an asset to the coaching set up.

Yes, he will be in charged of the player performance/fitness. He will be bringing over his vast experience from working at the famed MilanLab which is a very good thing for us if we want our older players like Carvalho, Ballack, Lamps, Deco, Didi to be in top conditions.

I'm just giving some examples Shah, the list is by no means exhaustive. Of course, it goes without saying we want our captain bionic to be fit for the whole season as well.

Yes, this will be the final season of Sheva with us. He signed a 4-year contract back in June 2006.
