DTS sound need decoder to decode the data to output the sound. This normally done by AV Receiver which DTS capable. Nowadays it is very common. However for those who does not have AVR, then Xtreamer will have internal DTS decoder to downmix it to 2 Channel sound and ouput to the TV. This is what we classify as DTS Downmix.

Thanks for the reply. How if i dont hv the AVR but i direct plug the optical to my Logitech z5500 from the Xstreamer. Question, will it support the audio format(5.1 surround)? I am quite anxious to know coz i dont hv much knowledge abt the sound system.

Added on January 25, 2010, 10:22 pmHDwarexpert, i got part of this spec from logitech z5500 website.... "The good: Powerful, crisp sound; Dolby Digital, DTS, DTS 96/24, and PCM 96/24 decoder; wireless remote control; coaxial and optical digital ins; headphone jack."

What do you think? will it support since it support the DTS?

Thanks again to you smile.gif
