Have you ever failed subject during study in university?
would you mind to share your experience?
and also how to overcome the depression and pull up the CGPA in coming exam?
i have failed 1 subject.i am taking Bachelor of Information Technology.
Majoring in Business Information System.
and i have 2 yrs to go for finish my degree.

nope...never fail any subject before...but you shouldnt be too hard on yourself if you had really tried your best...
as for depression...study smart...

i failed 1 subject during my university study..but dont worry about it..its normal for student to fail sometimes..u will learn a lot during repeating period..

Luckily i graduated without fail any subject.

i am currently a pre u student, going to IPTA soon,,i hope to keep my performance up to a satisfactory level.

For your info, i failed one subject in my life,,that is add maths during SPM.but then i crawled up from the ladder of failure, going high up to the ladder of success.=) It works for me at least.

PS: can we resit the papers which we have failed during our degree?

Failed a whole string of courses, long time ago, stressed out studying etc, and moron buddy introduced me to a game called starcraft at the time and some of us started playing it religiously and sadly that semester, we barely made it but basically failed having to redo because our marks were not high enough to get into the next course. Frustrating. Never introduce a game as a stress reliever before a final... absolutely horrified after that.

to rainpocky.haha...games can destroy ur life and study.it makes u so addicted to it , just like smoking does to you.

I played games & I smoked too. Doesn't affect me much. The effect is there of course but ONLY yu can let the effect to affect yu. It's all psychological thinking. Joey~~~

p.s: Smoking tends to act like a stress reliever. I'm not sure but feels like one. Oh ya! Gaming kept my sanity in check too. Seriously...

i wonder how smoking is posed useful to ur health besides relieve ur stress..

People pay $$ to smoke. They then need to smoke more. They pay more $$ to buy more smokes. Their health declines. Emphysema and lung cancer sets in. They die. The tobacco tai kors go laughing to the bank over the corpses of the smokers. WHERE IS THE BENEFIT FOR SMOKERS? NONE. Thats y i said the act of smoking is stupid. And smokers behave stupidly by smoking.

In addition to that, we should try those who are in the business of smoking for murder. Promoting people to poison themselves. Smokers get a temporary high and for what? A slow, gasping, wheezing, pointless and early death.

no offence..it is just my personal view..i dislike ppl who smoke, cos uni doesnt allow students to smoke and i really wonder: r u smoking at toilet?

i almost failed Moral Studies
thank god n was so excited i got B- i had to tell everyone i am orang bermoral

My first term cgpa was 2.07, I failed one subject, for absenting the test, even my father asked whether i want to continue or not..
but my score getting better each term afterwards thanks to non essential subjects, such as Japanese, i got As for 3 terms, and Volleyball in my last term, end up my cgpa was 3.03 and got second upper class...

i m studying in MMU melaka.
the result is released recently.
my GPA was drop due to failed 1 subject. from 3.4++ drop until 2.1++
And then i need to taking supplementary paper later.
i am wondering that is it possible for me to pull back the CGPA? else i better quit study then.

Out of campus. Smoking does have negative effects and I'm aware of it. Thank yu for reminding me, though.

My very first semester at Taylor's I got a 0.00 GPA

That's not a typo. Took 4 courses, fail all 4.

Needless to say my dad pretty much said screw up again and he'll break my legs

the subject i failed call Machine Architecture which study a lot of electronic thing...theory based subject.
i juz study 1 chapter out of 8 chapter in that subject,
i feel so stress during study that subject , that's why i failed.

i'm not exactly sure which system MMU uses. if they follow IPTA system, then u're in good luck. retaking the subject will recalculate ur CGPA and pull it up again. of course, ur transcript will still note that u've failed the subject once, but the overall CGPA wont reflect that.

That is pretty lame..I find Taylor to be the most prestigious uni college ..
Do you find many taylorians get used to enjoy the clubbing life? they always come out to enjoy themselves and indulging in lots of entertaining activities like clubbing,redbox,shopping..etc to enjoy their life to the fullest.

that perhaps pull down ur grade..

i once study at taylor ADTP, scoring almost 80% above in all subjects..that was probably easy at the beginning but then i suppose if u r to mix with all the extravagant guys and play around, u will be degraded just like them...so study hard ! Dun ever think that ur dad is rich and u r afford to resit the papers all over again.

well, i graduated my diploma with 3.23 without repeating any subjects. then graduated my degree with exactly 3.00, and repeated 2 subjects (1 is a 5 credit subject, the other is hadir-wajib subject with 0 credit value). both in UTM. the 3.00 result gave me opportunity to study for my masters in UCL, where i scored a distinction (there's no pointers in it).

although the results weren't stellar, i did obtain two dean's list award (first in 1st year 2nd sem, 2nd is the final year 2nd sem). i put all my great/favourite subjects into one semester and score it so that i could score the dean's list .

if i didnt repeat the failed subject, i doubt i'd be doing masters anywhere. 3.00 is the absolute minimum! .

actually, not anymore. nowadays they've introduced the new-path PhD, where u can take an MPhil (masters in philosophy), and after 2 years, u can opt to convert that into a PhD by adding 1 or 2 more years.

this way, if u cant cope with PhD, u will grad with an MPhil after 2 years. but if u're stellar, then u will grad with a PhD but without the MPhil after 3 or 4 years.

masters of philosophy and doctorate of philosophy is not a field, but a title.

ur field will be dictated as MPhil in Bio-chemical Engineering or PhD in Applications of Shape-Memory Alloy in Commercial Jet Engines.

i failed OS ( operating system ) during Diploma in computer science. because the lecturer is stupid but still want to teach this subject..

My first add math test result was a total disgrace. And I continued to
fail several times... but each time I get better and better, A1 in SPM.
In my personal opinion, when it comes to studying... if you fail means
there's either something wrong with your studying method or just
plain lazy.
Don't focus on getting over your depression, find out why you fail and
correct it.

i've finished my masters back in 2004. i did an MSc in Virtual Environment, basically about designing worlds in 3D immersive environments. involves lots of programming in VRML, C++ and proce55ing, something i wasnt even familiar with hehe.

now i'm doing my PhD in sheffield.

actually, it's not that hard to get a dean's list. just make sure to put all the subjects that u think u can score in one semester. that's assuming if they let u to rearrange ur own subjects...

everything in moderation. my taylor's life was pretty fun. lol.

once u reach uni level, it's very easy to fail. but once u put in a little effort, you'll be surprise how much you can get. I'm sure alot would agree. Besides, you learn from mistakes. and once u kena bang from parents, you'll probably study harder. I've already failed twice in my course so far. not very proud about it but yea, damage done. just buckle down when the time comes. Still can have clubbing nights almost every other weekend thats assignment/test free until exam period.

class start at 8
i after 7.30 only leave house. by the time park car all, walk into class maybe 5-10 minutes late?
go class sleep. halfway before break eat my packed sandwich. go back to sleep. go out makan, come back class, sleep. class end, go pool for a bit, balik rumah. at night yum cha or gym only.
lol. SAM can relax wan. btw, i usually do my work pretty fast when necessary. hand in, go back so sleep. LOL. got nice bag as pillow, air con from the hot weather.
one month before exams whack library everyday la. if not library starbucks. reached my target TER, in monash now. ok what. turn out pretty decent. not exceptional but i was never a top scorer.

failed once during my first semester in first year... it was the more careless mistakes i ever made in my whole life... why?? i copied the wrong time for the exam and guess what, i missed the final!!! even worst when no one actually realized i was absent... such an idiot!!!

In my foundation time,i almost failed calculus 1 2 3,
and my cgpa is only 2.30,but fortunely i manage to revive and the latest result i get was 3.13 which is last sem result,
Having such a hard time during foundation,
Phew~luckily didn't fail any subject till now~
Grateful for that....

once my friend thought he was sitting for a finance paper, but it turned out to be a econs paper.
luckily he knew enough to cover it and still managed to pass

unbelievable right? when i told one of my friend, she also don't believe this will happened on me... that time i was in my first semester... newbie... don't have much friends... i'm now still studying in the local uni... currently in my 5th sem final year... yeah, will need to print out the exam slip and bring it along during the exam...

he study for a subject whole semester and realize that he wrong register course when final exam was near

this problem always happened especially when most or maybe all IPTA (i'm not sure with IPTS) are using the online system to register for the courses.... most students only realized the mistake when they print out their exam slip... when this happened, usually they student will have to meet the dean...

IPTS is using with the same system.
we do register online for the courses.

Haha, it was 10 years ago, first time away from home so freedom, every night go clubbing or yamcha or whatever until 4am, then next day can't wake up in time to go to class

But after that retook everything and managed to score quite well, I'm actually quite decent in studies, just that first semester play too much only.

I was in Taylor's in 1999-2000, so I dunno how much it's improved since then, but compared to a real University, Taylor's is rubbish.

I failed calculus II. I merely retook it and it replaced my grade and shot my GPA up.

that calculus is si~beh~ difficult.
i think this is a killing subject for ENG student.

never... what I've considered fail is Cs... I hate them... I'm itching to ask a fail so that I could repeat but I can't... sigh.....

neither is my result is damn good... more like an OK. This sem I got more than 6 subject, so I'm rooting to gain my CGPA now...
