just took a look at the multi audio out function..
seems that it's limited to:
Main HDMI: 5.1
Secondary OPTICAL: 2 channels

hmm.gif

no 7.1 if you wish to enable the multi out

I made a better sound setup for myself and considering the space I have, I think I have the best up I can get right now for myself.
4 speakers, 2 subs. tongue.gif

What I did was just connected my PS3 to my PC's soundcard and then use it to output 4.2.
Results were... somehow better than 5.1.... unsure.gif

Looks like any plans for a dynamic PS3 theme creator is down the drain. The dynamic theme needs a dev kit and is only available to licensed developers and publishers.

So there you go, no "naughty" stuff that you wanna do on your own.

That's precisely right.
We can only expect a free dynamic theme on the store every once those so called "special" times comes around.

With that said, I do hope that developers start to put in a dynamic theme of their own game on the disc in the future. I don't see why this would be a bad idea at all.
So like Uncharted 2 should have one of its own dynamic theme coming on the disc already, instead of people going to have to shell out another rip-off $3 on the store.

Well I'd be grateful if they gave us some sort of exclusive pre-order limited theme or something, yet alone free themes. tongue.gif

Also, I thought there'd be some tweaks in regards with trophy sorting but I've yet to see anything. I'd prefer if my trophy stats was sorted alphabetically or based on completion in ascending or descending order.
*
Apparently Sony did say about trophies sorting in 3.0.
But where is it? No where to be found.

I think they have some sort of confusion somewhere inside....
The only thing that has been adjusted is that Platinums do not count to your total completion percentage anymore. While it still does count to added "points" to your total trophy level, it seems that Platinums has also decreased in total points given.

Best mock-up ever for what 3.0 should have been: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstatio...hread.id=114363

There are certainly complications, but this is how it should be done.

And for those still complaining about the news ticker on the XMB.... theres actually a way to trick the system and turn it off. Simply just set your date settings to the future and restart your PS3. What this does is simlpy because there is no news to be displayed in the future, there won't be a bleeping news ticker.

3.01 isn't mandatory.... atleast right now.
So it seems that its only for those who are having freezing issues.

I guess no one has got this game locked up yet, since no one is playing it. X-men Originis Wolverine is also facing lock up issues. How do I know? Cause' I just experienced it twice, 12 hours ago.

Something for PS Fanboys to jump and shout

good surprise for NGS2. it's a true 720p (vs 1120x585 on X360) and with MSAA x2. it's better than Sigma 1 (no AA) and the first Action AAA PS3 game in 720p + MSAA + 60fps (DMC use temporal AA not true MSAA)

Source From Beyond3D...google it..to damn lazy to link it.

Except it has the worst upscaling algorithm I've ever seen in a game this generation.
Play it in 1080p and it looks absolutely, horrendous. shakehead.gif

And no, the game isn't in solid 60fps all the way as promised at first by the developers.
THere are quite a bit of screen tearing as well, although in this case it isn't too bad because you'll be more focused on saving your own ass than worry about screen tears.
However you play this game in 1080p, it really... really does spoil the way you play. Everything seems to be upscaled from 576p, now go figure how fuggin' bad it looks on a native 1080p screen. doh.gif

And the first Sigma has one of the best upscaling algorithm on the PS3.... doh.gif rolleyes.gif

Breaking rumor: Cross-chat coming this October, firmware 3.10.

QUOTE
A VG247 said today that Sony has informed developers of plans to incorporate cross-title voice chat in PS3 play by the end of October.

The feature will be added in Firmware update 3.10, we were told.
Cross-title chat is consistently one of the most asked-for features on PS3 – looks like Sony’s ready to deliver.
http://www.vg247.com/2009/09/24/source-ps3...hat-in-october/

Now, VG247 has been always 50/50 on their rumors and sources.
If this is to be believed, we're just a couple days away from October.

guys, how to do movie rental with ps3?

i found a link and it stated "this service is not available in your country/region" something like tat.

but i have a US PSN account though.

thanks
*
You answered your own question.
It's as simple as it sounds, you're in Malaysia, how else do you expect to do rentals from a US video service?

The video store and its services are only available to US residents.
Doesn't matter if you have a US PSN or not, you need a legit US IP.

for r2 disc users who bother. whether the local importers want to bring it into maling, that is another question.

You know... on a side note, placing the codes inside the old PLAYSTATION 3 blu-ray casings is such a waste....
And EU are one of those who are very keen on developing a "greener" earth.

The irony.... shakehead.gif

I have a PS3 in Malaysia, some of you may know, my I.D is almattitude_v1.

Now, the PS3 is left there in Malaysia, and I am in Melbourne. I also have a PS3 here.

So, the question is, can I use my PSN I.D (which is associated to my Malaysian PS3) here in Australia with another PS3?
*
Yes.

3.10 isn't a major update guys.
Sony already said the major updates are done for the year which ended with 3.0/3.01.

While this is a rather significant update with facebook, the MUCH MUCH better photo album and perhaps.... better friendslist, it isn't anything major. It should have been in 3.0, except facebook of course.

And I'll pass for facebook... whatever the hell that is. whistling.gif
