Anyone have recommendation for
245/40/R19 tyre?

Only found Federa 595RS-Rl, Dunlop Sportmaxx TT and Toyo Proxes in Ipoh so far.
*
for max grip level 595Rrs is hard to beat due to their rubber if very soft and tread wear is very high 140UTQG so grip level is at max compare at 3 tire listed by your finding

RE001 always DRY road King....(if AD07/08 is not here)

RE001 sidewall is design for cornering...

PS3 sidewall softer....
Wah RE001 strong supporter...

i never use before but have challenge/ sprint drive with another car that fitted RE001 from japan...
that time i was using chop shop tire yokohama DNA, both our car is same just running different tire and the RE001 have fitted alot of bars .. mine none ...

we push and push also got challenge a RX8 to the peak of genting... we are bumper to bumper from bottom of the hill to peak of the hill ... as u say RE001 so good but still unable to pull away... from chop shop tire... RE001 just so so ...

Re070 better
*
RE070 is good but only 2 size 18" & 20"
for 18" price is about RM1600 from honda Msia.

I think at this stage only few able to challenge RE070 ..like AD08, R1r, RS-3,Kumho KU-36

Got my PS3's today....feel a lot of difference with my old BF Goodrichs....first, with tonight's heavy rain, the car never flinched a little cruising at 160kmph, so wet performance is definitely great.....

The tyre also got a thumbs up for my wife who commented that it is more silent and comfortable than the previous set.

Will give further reviews after a touge in C. Highlands with these set of tyres
*
when u going to C. Highlands for touge?

by the way what car u have install ps3?

u canot judge the tires performance because u "tiong" the RX-8
maybe he dun have the skill / u r too skillfull...!

and i shud also mention....im discussing Street Tires...not those track car tire/slick tires/extreme performance tires

remember read i article few year back and they are comparing Street tires at Macau Track day

ranking

1)BS re001(more lasting than AD07) , AD07(better grip than re001)
both rank no. 1

2)michelin PS2

3)Dunlop DZ101

4)Falken 452
*
basically our skill is about the same.... from top to bottom i have not mention about extreme tire

QUOTE(ralf @ Mar 31 2010, 02:16 PM)
I agree with you.

I hate to say but mentioned it many times before. To accurately test a tire, it is best to fit on a same car with same setting and put it on a skidpad. Push it around the corner especially slalom test, it shows difference.

Different cars with different tyres, somemore different drivers..what kind of test is it? Chapalang test? crap..
Street racing ..omg. Go to a skidpad that wide enough, push it hard and smoke the wheel, burn donuts...leave skid marks on the ground...
*
where got skipad to try out?

Very good question! Just find a place that is wide enough provided the road is Tarmac...not gravel. If it is gravel, the tyre sure gone..rubber cut and tear off badly. Just push it harder and go sideway.. brows.gif This is how to try what's the limit... blush.gif

yes Tarmac road test, for gravel no issue last use to friend buggy with turbo... slide in and out ... so hard to control in corner but good to improve skill and understand the control level slide and over do it...

Only thing is we don't know what he drives. If we were to deduce the car he drives from the history of his post and his nickname and since he hangs around Sunway and Subang area, I guess I'd just have to tiong every Vios out there. I'd either find him one day or find the wrong person like michael9413. I'd like to see if he can keep up with my hopeless tires..  tongue.gif
*
sunway / subang becarefull there are few high power vios and not to forget michael is cornering king ... dont play play ...
Can i see your hopeless tire in action?

but careful of some corners very sharp indeed u cannot se the opposite cars until last sec... got a few cars gone down the valley b4 at 1 corner... that is wat the mechanics and also my mum's colleague is telling me...
*
Noted, then will try early morning time less car...best time to get vege

QUOTE(Gouki @ Apr 1 2010, 05:04 PM)
the new road from Simpang Pulai is not that bad like the Tapah road~ Simpang Pulai road to Cameron consists of a lot highspeed corners~ during a downhill from Cameron~ some corners can touch 160kmh easily~ where else the Tapah is much narrow with slow corners~ that will be more challenging and risky, provided if you know what you are doing~ smile.gif
*
yes i hear that too few friends flat out that corner....
