Ok, I have an iPhone 3G in my hand now which is not mine but belongs to my aunt. According to her, this iPhone was belonged to one of her colleagues from her company. MORE IMPORTANTLY, this iPhone was purchased BEFORE IT WAS LAUNCHED HERE IN M'SIA BY MAXIS. According to her, her colleagues found that the phone got some problem (hang always, etc) so brought to Lowyat Plaza for repairing, was there for 3 months and Lowyat person said they can't repair it. My aunt's boss then told my aunt to just bring it back and if can be repaired just repair, otherwise, nothing can be done. My aunt brought the phone to me yesterday. At the first glance, there was Cydia in it. The problem with the phone before I did anything on it was that it keeps appearing the message that it can't call and receive calls and asked to restore via iTunes. Hence, the next thing that I did was plug into my macbook white (with iTunes 8.1.1) and click restore without entering DFU mode. Everything gone worst at this point. The phone was restoring with the Apple logo and the restoring bar. After the restoring bar went finish, the phone was not restored and there is an error code of 1002 appeared on my macbook screen. From now on, the phone is BRICKED (can only see the screen asking to plug the usb into iTunes). I have tried to restore it for a few more times even using a macbook pro (with latest iTunes 8.2) and all I get is error code 1002 after the restore bar finished running.

As stated, the iPhone was not from Maxis and hence it is not possible for me to make a repair from Maxis (have asked before). What can I do with this phone? I can do nothing?

Need help/suggestions from you guys.

Hanxz and me have tried in our very best effort to revive the iPhone as we manage to get the phone to the main screen and the iPhone is a US unit with Part Number MB048LL. There's more information but i'll leave the rest to Hanxz to explain to you later.

Thread Closed as you have gotten the iPhone fixed: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/826183/+300

Cheers
