My old 4890 + 4870 setup on CM690 using my same motherboard. Silverstone Evolution 1000W PSU just next to my second graphic card.

[attachmentid=961884]

Currently I'm back to one HD 4890 cause the games I play don't need the extra performance yet.

I thought you fix in both cards with AC Accelero Twin Turbo which is what I am looking for in the first place.
Have you tried fixing both with Ac Twin Turbo?

Anyway, nice Rig. and hope you enjoy your gaming.

No. Didn't really bother about third party coolers cause my environment already cool enough.

From the looks of Accelero's size, it's half the length of crossfire bridge. It should fit if other motherboard PCI-e lanes are the same as P5Q Deluxe or motherboards with better PCI-e positions.

Thanks and hope the information about Accelero is enough.
*
Really helped a lot. I'm using p6t Deluxe and I hope if I fix both with accelero twin turbo It'll fit my cm690 case. If not, I'm planning to change to a bigger case, maybe Raven.
Thanks for the info bro.

Welcome. I looked at P6T Deluxe slots and the PCI-e lanes are identical to mine. It will fit unless your power supply is bigger than mine. Raven looks like a nice casing but the budget for that is high for a casing.
*
Its good to know bro our mobo is identical, my doubts are almost clear. I'm using Acbel m8, not really sure whether it's big or not cause never compared to others.

I admit RAVEN is an expensive casing, I'll only consider buying it if I have enough fund. tongue.gif

Thanks again~

umhh-i got a problem here..here is my specs

quad q8200
gc xfx 4850
mobo asus p5kpl
psu CM 600w
2gb ram
hdd 320 sata+ 200 ide
acer h233h

then i play crysis warhead-using the minimal setting according to my specs..after a few moments of play, it got stuck and hang. the display becomes dark. i have to reset my pc again after that. this only happens when i play crysis only. never happens when i play FM09 and watching bluray movies. sumbody please help...sad.gif
*
From your specs, it seems ok.

Did you monitor your cards temp. What's the load temp? I got the same problem back then when I was using AGP Hd2600xt. The load temp was very high so I remove my casing's side panel and problem solved. (not crysis).
But, somehow I think mine is a different problem. Better wait for sifus to guide you.

I'm happy with current ATI 9.4.

I'll give it a try if other hd4890 users post good comment about it. Btw, what is new with this driver version?

to you it's no big deal. but for 4770 owners it is momentous, as their GC will be supported finally. dun need to use the beta or the lame driver from cd.

performance wise... not sure. only ATI users can tell tongue.gif
*
Owh, so that's why. I can really understand their feeling since I experienced it as well. Enjoy 4770 users~

I checked in both sapphire and Ati's website, seems like the 9.5CCC is not released yet.

Is there any other web offering ATI drivers?

Using CCC 9.5 here... I don't see anything different. Radeon HD 4890 here.

So, like I said before. No point changing~

But for 4770 users, I'm more than please to know your performance with the new driver. I'll be getting my hands on it next month. Buying it for my friend. Thanks~

It looks like the Toxic version but the box looks so cool hahah~

Anyway, I think it'll be very pricey since it's a limited edition plus it comes with custom cooler.

I think the price should be less than RM11XX...But i still prefer HIS iceq custom cooler, nicer look...  biggrin.gif
*
For RM11xx better buy cstkl GTX285 AMP! I believe it can perform better than HD4890.
(no offense to any ATI Die hard supporters) tongue.gif

Is there any benchmark for this card?

so do u think around much it i can let go?
wise idea to sell of and get GTX260 galaxy version?
*
1st of all, why do u want to sell the card and buy GTX260? I don't think it's wise considering the fact that you can only have slight increment in graphic quality. why don't you aim for 4890, GTX275/285.
Just my 2 cents icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(gto87 @ May 12 2009, 02:49 PM)
is it possible to CF two HD4890 fixed with AC accelero? A bigger casing plus there's a new Mobo with 6 pci-e slot that can make this possible.

The main problem is CF bridge which I think is not long enough to connect both cards.

Reason I'm planning on doing this is because I want to overcome the heat problem.

Anybody have better suggestion other than my method can share their ideas.

Thanks guys~

Found my solution here

Currently Asus makes the longer version of Crossfire Bridge. 9CM to be exact and it has the perfect length which can fit from the 1st slot to the 3rd slot PCI-E of my Asus p6t deluxe. thumbup.gif

Now, eyeing for a 4890, or maybe I'll wait for HD5000 series out 1st. That way, I can get it a lot cheaper plus by that time I'll have enough fund for my new chassis! brows.gif

Anyway Thanks to those who helped me.

May I know if anyone has record for HD4890 3DMark Vantage at stock speed? 850Mhz core and 975Mhz memory?
*
Below I attached a picture for 3DMark Vantage Result. Both Proc and Gpu were at stock speed.

Hi gto87,

Thank you very much for the screen shot. I was getting about 9.9k mark for my GPU alone and I thought my HD4890 is abnormal sweat.gif as I can see some results over 10k mark for stock speed of HD4890.

guys..
anyone experience lagging playing pes 09 using ati graphic card?? me using ati 4770 now.. it doesnt feel as smooth as wen i'm using nvidia 8500gt la.. using 19" monitor playing at only 1024x768.. like tat also will lag la.. or driver issue?? using stock driver from cd. other games are just fine..

1st time using ati GC here.. kinda noob in its function.
*
Dude, It's not possible to lag unless your card is crappier than my HD2600 XT (AGP). I'm using that card with my Pentium4 HT proc and together with Dell's 24" LCD. All Max Setting. No lag or whatsoever.
It'll only lag when I'm playing either GRID, HAWX, or COD4 at Max setting.

EDIT: @wild_card_my

Before this I was using Sapphire HD4870 512MB Big Fan Series and to be perfectly honest, the card serves me well.
It didn't Lag for games like COD4, COD5, GRID, HAWX, PES09, GOW, Godfather2, and NFS Undercover. (all max setting)

But when it comes to game like Crysis, Crysis Warhead and Farcry, it'll lag a bit. When it comes to heavy shooting scenes, it'll lag a lot especially with crysis (all High setting)
In very High setting, it's disastrous.

I don't have any idea about the 4850 card but I do know that the extra memory will come in handy when using higher Reso.

The question is, how helpful will it be?

But the most important question is what kind of games do you play?

P/s: All games were played on 1920*1080~

thats why i ask la.. why like tat.. my 8500gt run more smooth then this new 4770.. anything related to my mobo or cpu?? anything tat i need to tweak in CCC???

one more issue..
i din get much graphic improvement for GRID, the edges are still not smooth. i feel like playing on my 8500gt only..  BUT the game play is very very smooth lo (super fast loading).. ALL compared with my previous GC.
*
Relax Bro. Ok now. If I have this kinda problem. I always check the hardware with my friends PC.
Do you have friends that use a better proc than yours? Why don't you take the card to him and test it.

just my 2 cents~
