i beg all the sifus n pros, SOS HELP!!

as the title mentioned, i hav come across these full hd models which are under promotion at my place. Plannin to get 1 but after comparing n reviewing the tech specs n infos, i can safely say i hav no idea wat r they talkin bout. So could somebody pls guide me which is better in terms of these 2, or recommand me other full hd models. My budget is under RM4k, Plasma or LCD also can, but heard Plasma is always more expensive.

Another thing is the 24p Real Cinema which supports in the Bravia. Just couldn't find out the exact pixel frame rate in the Regza. Any idea does the Regza supports this feature?

thanx!

Comparison:
1. Sony's in 40" but Toshiba's 42"
2. -pendin from u guys-

S-Series is the low end of Sony Bravia Series, so why dun u get V-Series or above? or you can go for plasma which is cheaper while more superior in PQ....correct me if I'm wrong

Toshiba what model? Some Toshiba TV has 10 bit panel which you cannot get in Bravia S Series.

The color more richer compared to standard 8 bit panel. But now i think there is no differences between those two as there is no 10 bit resource to feed the 10 bit panel (even blu ray i think)

Correct me if i'm wrong but looking at the price, i would definitely consider the Regza instead of Bravia. the Bravia 32S400 is old model.

If you want the newest model than the two mentioned above, i would consider KLV-40V550 retail prices RM4499. The Regza RP is RM3999.

And i think you should consider and audition the other brand as well. Most of LYN forumer prefer Panasonic and Philips.

i'm also wondering what's the upgrade of PQ on the new bravia series... i know it's now using the Bravia Engine 3 instead of BE2... but surfing through the internet the only advantage i can find is that the BE3 can give better pq for lower standard sources (regular tv, non-hd, astro etc etc)... so i guess for hd picture the quality is the same??

i was at best denki klcc and compared the samsung series 4 32 inch and the bravia 32 inch s550 (BE3)... i now that the samsung got rave reviews from last year... since the tv was side to side, i can see on standard setting the samsung has more vivid colors as compared to the sony... also the black color is deeper as for the sony it's slightly lighter/grayish.... looking at detail pictures (grass, sea etc etc) the bravia has a more natural feel to it (the samsung looks too "enhanced")...

most probably i'll be getting the sony since i already have a sony dvd player...

The 32 inch you saw is S series or V series. S series contrast is not impressive. The V series is better.

Plus, the seting might be different. Ask the seller the remote so you can calibrate the TV setting by your self.

And one more thing. More vivid the more eyestrain.

Saw the new Samsung LED (back-light) TV, quite nice and soooo slim. Very tempted to get 1.

Any comment on this model? Might get it as father's day present. SenQ now is having a promotion with free BD play(even though i already have PS3), wall mount, HDMI cable and a beg.

i would go for the Toshiba.

their specs are similar, but toshiba is 2 inch larger.
24 real cinema is subjective, and on the sony S series, it is maybe useless.

I'd go for the larger 42 inch. also, the Toshiba is probably a hard panel. i like hard panel LCD.

after u minus the sony brand premium, the S should worth less than the Toshiba.
So, the toshiba tv has more value.

Thanx for the info n suggestion guys! Is it really that bad for Samsung models? just came back from Harvey Norman they r havin promo for Samsung 6 series, not bad for Astro and dvd/bluray. Makes me thinkin of replacin the Toshiba with Samsung. And also think i would go for V series if for Sony since it's newer.

How bout Panasonic Viera?? fren demo his to me n i think it's great for value in overall.

Samsung LCD is excellent in PQ and its stylish design, but one main concern of me is that the SQ of all Samsung LCD is just average, this is what i saw from reviews of many websites.

try going into review.cnet.com they have detail review and more often than not samsung is their choice especially for the lower and mid price lcd.... their reviews are quite detailed and and comprehensive... i like rclxms.gif

it's true... part of the price u pay for sony is for it's brand.... they aren't all that bad... just a bit over priced sometimes.... to me, i'm still undecided between sony and samsung....
