By the way, all telcos got users complaint. The best way to rate which telcos the best is base on total subscribers the providers had... the more the best.

So far TM provide the best service (unlimited and stable) internet connection to me.

I am thinking whether they will implement cap quota soon...
As long as they give reasonable quota, I am fine. Example Streamyx 1Mbps with 20GB, 4Mbps with 30-40GB... But looking at other providers quota, seem like their amount really so less, eg P*. QUOTE(cjoenic @ Feb 24 2013, 09:33 PM) |

From FAQ page: http://www.tm.com.my/ap/personal/internet/.../Pages/faq.aspx
38. What is Peer-to-Peer (P2P)? Peer-to-peer is a type of Internet network allowing a group of computer users with the same networking program to connect with each other for the purposes of directly accessing files from one another's hard drives. P2P speed of download and upload depends on customer network cloud. It will be faster if the seeders (person who share their files) are in the same local cloud as the leechers (person who download the files). Example of P2P applications that are commonly used by Internet users are Kaza & Bittorent. Streamyx maximum download and upload speed is not guarantee for P2P or any international traffic connection. TM’s policy had restricted and enforced the P2P regulations to avoid heavy congestion for Malaysia Internet cloud. Currently P2P is consuming greater bandwidth than other normal Internet applications (e.g. web browsing) for Malaysia’s local internet cloud. 40. Why do I experience slow P2P even though there are lots of peers available? P2P application uses a lot of bandwidth and can significantly reduce the connection speed of other users especially during peak hours. To ensure optimal broadband experience for all users, TM has imposed prioritization during peak hours that would restrict throughput for P2P application. 41. Why TM is offering unlimited packages & at the same time limits the amount of traffic? Unlimited means that there is no time capping for user to access to the Internet and it does not mean that user can download/upload an unlimited volume of data. No comment, as more users, the network administration will be more complex. Try call 100 to file complaint.
Anyway, I did felt the youtube streaming not consistent, especially in peak hours. After 12 mid-night, I watch youtube streaming will be smooth. Quite a bit of frustration with this. But, this is the best provider, so far.... for without Unifi area. QUOTE(DoomerX @ Mar 10 2013, 12:43 AM) |

I guess the youtube slow might due to few things...
1. Where the source of video you watch located, it might be server in HK, US, Europe. 2. TMNet gateway server. 3. Your ADSL line stability. 4. Youtube own server issue (less likely) QUOTE(SpikeTwo @ Apr 25 2013, 08:13 PM) |

IMHO, TM will still the prefer broadband provider as long as they do not enforce data quota capped. Those high usage users will still prefer TM, even through Maxis do not enforce data capped too, as they believe TM do not as efficient as Maxis.
Except MCMC kick in to force all providers to change broadband plan to sell data quota instead of based on speed, if not, TM still has advantage as the root had spreaded in term of infrastructure and etc... Just my humble opinion, may be wrong, no any mean of personal attack. QUOTE(ITLearner @ Sep 15 2013, 12:13 PM) |
