i think they just try what they can do from his/her seat... sometimes reset port doesn't work.. they always say got no problem on their side even after they reset the port remotely.. but after the TM staff come to do checkup, still, the port is the problem..
as for my case, so far, 4 times every 2 weeks, need to call them.. when TM staff come again to do checkup, port got problem, need to reset directly from the port even whenhelpdesk says nothing wrong with the port... but your case, DSL blinking... mine, DSL stable, but can't connect...
DSL blinking might be because of splitter or old telephone line... but maybe also because their port fakap... so, you do your part, try change splitter, borrow friends modem etc.. if you can't solve, call them so they do their job..
