i met an accident. i banged into a taxi. it's totally my fault and i asked him not to make a report and i will pay for every single damage and i did. thank god. such a gentleman he is. i forgot to ask for his name. but he's a nice chinese chap. ok nvm..
what i wana ask is..how much is a brand new pair for viva elite front headlamp? and say if my car is damaged until the radiator there bengkok a bit. after all the repair at 'body shop', will the car stability remains the same? the engine compartment seems OK. everything is OK. again, im sorry to that taxi driver. it's totally my fault. |

This is my new addition! because i've got 15x6.5jj from my uncle and i'm not sure i can use it with stock suspension setup for viva elite ezi. |

QUOTE(ZenGTMM @ Feb 1 2011, 04:07 AM) U can try Bendix Metal King Titanium.. Cost around RM120 per set for Persona, not sure bout Viva.. yeap, i bought bendix MKT. heheTrestor Advantage Blue also very good. 3rd would be Rapid Stop pads.. All 3 pads are available in automotive garage.. For best performance i would recommend Bendix MKT QUOTE(noblesse @ Feb 1 2011, 12:11 PM) i heard changing to other brake pads will have screeching noises when braking. is it true? well, i havnt use long enough to give any comment. but yes, it does have screeching noises when braking especially when we brake during jam or during slow speed or maybe applies to p2 cars only. |

QUOTE(ZenGTMM @ Feb 1 2011, 02:24 PM) Nope.. Only ceramic pads will have the screeching noise due to the hard compound.. Normal pads wont have the screeching noise after a certain amount of wear in period.. i see. will keep an eye on that for the next 2 weeks. well, one of the reason i changed the brake pad is because i'm commuting almost 120km a day through highway. sometimes high speed (viva only, not that high speed la) driving when there's no car on the road Not normal for the whole lifespan of the pads lah.. Normally in the initial bedding in period yes.. After sometime its suppose to go off.. If u still have screeching noise and u want to get rid of it just to to a tayar shop to file down the edges of the pad.. They will take the machine and grind the edges off .. The screeching sound is due to only the edge of the pad coming into contact with the rotors when light braking.. Wah Viva only want to use Honda system ah? A better recommendation would be to upgrade to Brembo MAX ventilated slotted rotor disc.. Its good and cheaper than changing the whole brake set.. If u feel the brakes are not powerful enough, upgrade to a bigger brake pump.. However a double servo pump would be an overkill for Viva, u dont want to be locking ur tires everytime u brake... Just a bigger pump will do, mb those Myvi ones.. Halfcut can get less than rm150.. BTW, has any of you guys install water temp gauge? i know our engine doesnt need to have that meter, but it should be good to have one i think |

QUOTE(ZenGTMM @ Feb 2 2011, 01:01 AM) How high speed? not as high as i would do if i drive a persona, that's for sure la, my car is just a viva lor Btw i read that viva recommended engine oil is 5w-30 right? not 40 right? for 30 series viscosity i have only seen fully synthetic oil with that grade.. What do u guys use for ur engine oil? My personal favourite is Castrol Magnatec 5w-40. I have used Syntium 800 and Shell Helix HX7 for my car.. By far the best is Castrol with huge noticeable difference. for engine oil. so far, i only use what perodua sc gave me when i went there for scheduled services. never bother before i've done -change to 3-1 extractor (removed the stock one that came with cat con, so now i don't use cat con) -cheapo muffler (too noisy, will change in future) -bendix mkt. i think, the next possible thing to do is per your suggestion, spark plug and grounding cable+VS i guess then. as for spark plug, that can wait i guess. i'll go for the latter 2 first. ps : i'm super noob in this stuff BTW -,-'. oh, happy chinese new year to all viva drivers! drive safe balik kampung! QUOTE(ZenGTMM @ Feb 3 2011, 01:46 PM) LOL.. Viva very bumpy and engine very noisy.. i see. well, i'm scouting the price for spark plug right now. denso iridium is it? My mom barely drive the car fast.. Most most also 60-80 only.. Tried cornering the car at 70kmh just now and i almost=.=.. !! How much for the extractor? I suggest u install spark plug first.. Cos the VS+GC fro erictioh i installed it also.. Cant feel much difference except slightly smoother idling lah.. Other than that cant feel any improvement in FC also.. Cheaper to install plugs too.. XD oh, yes i'm going for the VS+GC from erictioh as well. cheaper than those branded and from the feedbacks that he got, i think it's worth a try for me BTW, here's my feedback using bendix MTK for 3 days. the brake is great. no vibration and the grip is good. oh, i can feel my ABS is working extra time to prevent my front wheels from locking up because of using stock 14' tyres from perodua that is almost 50% worn out. LOL =,=. my suggestion to those who are going for the aftermarket brake pad/brake system, change your tyres to the better one first. or else you won't be ultilizing the brake perfomance as it should This post has been edited by camel90: Feb 3 2011, 03:52 PM |

QUOTE(eddmecha @ Feb 5 2011, 01:09 AM) hi guys i just wanna ask if tubless tyre that cannot be patch can it be replace with tube ?wanna save some $$ coz the tyre were 80% of thread just used around 5k...help me please i won't recommend you to do that. BUT, to answer your question, yes. AFAIK there's an option to insert tube into the tyres for the case like you. my suggestion if you want to do it, put that tyre on the rear, at least when it does go 'kaboom' again you can still control your car ps: my grandfather is using this option for his old saga, but of course he use it as spare tyre la QUOTE(monster2020 @ Feb 5 2011, 12:17 PM) i remove the cat con(viva cat con is built on the extractor, so i changed to aftermarket 3-1 extractor) and use cap ayam straight muffler but keeping the stock bullet for now. result = can feel the 'lightness' when reving but of course tooo noisy about the FC, i've yet to measure it but so far so good. air filter, spark plug = all stock for now. QUOTE(prospeed_ballz @ Feb 7 2011, 11:06 AM) from my rough calculation and observation, each bar can get me around 63km++......i always watch the bar every 1-2 minutes.....so rough estimation should be indeed! but for my elite 1.0 auto, each bar can be as good as 71km and as bad as 50km per bar (floor to the metal 150 on clear PLUS highway in the middle of morning during weekend balik kampung. LOL)63km * 8 bar = 504km |

QUOTE(eddmecha @ Feb 10 2011, 02:25 AM) the GC doesn't give any effect does it for you? hurm...i'm thinking to install both of them too BTW guys, have any of you installed the 2nd layer of tint (those cheap one perhaps) after the original layer that came with the package when we bought the car from perodua? is it advisable to do so(other than the JPJ doens't allow to pass certain limit, is there any other reason)? the original tint that the sale assistant gave me right now isn't dark enough and i'm thinking to apply the 2nd layer for all windows EXCEPT front windscreen and the rear windscreen. the RM160-RM180 packages at the Automotive garage sales do look tempting for me tho |

QUOTE(ZenGTMM @ Feb 11 2011, 09:05 AM) Going for first service at 1100km today.. Btw what else do they change except oil and oil filter? How much the first service cost? And what oil grade they use? Pro-ride absorbers or springs? How much damage? I thought of upgrading rims to 15".. QUOTE(jtshin @ Feb 12 2011, 10:23 AM) For now only the springs, absorbers i shall wait until it Kong then only i'll change. niceee...looks like there're a lot more viva drivers aiming for 15'. me too, i think i'll go for the 15x6.5jj perhaps anyway, update on my current FC RM50 for 400KM of journey using Petronas Ron 95 so, that will be roughly around 15km/L. hurm..not really a nice figure, but i'm satisfied with it since with the upgraded exhaust setup(Rojak+StraightFlow), i always rev the engine a bit higher |
