hi
i would like to ask if anyone knows if there is any bank that allow one to open a new account online ( overseas can not sure in Malaysia )

as i am overseas now but i would like to open another Malaysian bank acc so its easier for my customers.

i've search but onlin Bank Islam has this feature called express bank tools.

would like to know on :

CIMB
Public Bank

as i have a maybank acc

as far as i know, so far all opening of acct with local banks require customer to present themselve in front of the officer with IC/passport for verification

It's to prevent fraud. Say the postman delivers the mail to the wrong address and I get a cheque for RM50K issued to another person.

If I could open a bank account without showing the bank any proof of ID, I could clear that cheque. Crossed cheques wouldn't be safe anymore.

So I think you should quit looking.

other countries are implemnting so are u saying their banks are not secure?
when u apply online, of cuz proof of id will be asked ( --" )
and i think Bank islam have it.
if u guys dont know, please leave it clean

Australia to be exact - not only 1, but 3 major banks here allows to do it.
and the responds was immediate, only need to wait for bank card to be mailed
info such as address, medibank num,passport and such
