QUOTE(D-Zire @ Aug 1 2010, 12:40 PM) Guys, good for engine but damaging our gb. our AT clutch will slip if we push it too hard, will worn the seal faster. to remove the carbon deposit try this put at 2/3rd gear then rev slowly up to redline. I was wondering if I occasionally rev my engine to the max 6.5k rpm, would that do any harm to the engine and transmission itself? like for example, i go into manual mode and i rev to 6.5k rpm for every gear change...from 1st to 5th gear... I heard my friend say we should do that to the engine once in a while la like once a month so that any carbon deposits would burn off from the pistons and deposit into the engine oil. or something like that. AT gb not meant for acceleration.. thats why we can rev the engine easy but the urge of accleration is nowhere, must wait the torque converter engaged then we can have the power. |

Huwaa.. really admit defeated today by mitsu lancer 2.0GT.. trunk road from lukut till sepang then continue to NKVE.. this road is almost become my everyday road but still didnt manage to tailgate the lancer. the acceleration is just crazy.. while at sharp corner near Jimah powerplant it takes corner as solid as my M3. Only on highway i manage to take a lead.. but maybe he's not full trottle anymore.
Is the lancer is too good? attack corner as fast as M3 but while exiting the corner the acceleration is very good and i can't keep up. maybe the power of CVT. |

ooh i forgot about the tint.. got free tint but the normal capalang one.. so i top up to get the vkool elite..
other dealer might offer free GPS unit and t-shirt. Added on August 6, 2010, 6:22 pm QUOTE(furiezachs @ Aug 6 2010, 04:10 PM) Well guys I could say you're luckier. aha.. i didnt get the zoom2 club card.. but ithink is pretty useless for me. i dont think they have waja ready stock now. before i bought M3 already asking few proton dealer for waja cps, need to order and expect around 3-4month waiting period. The only thing I get is that registration of zoom-zoom club which every Mazdarian got lah...but it's a good thing, coz i love the discount for pizza and Kenny Rogers. Cap n thermos is petty stuff but free tinting? Hmm...depends on what brand of tint you've got. It could be a great deal! I think the rebadge lancer will be on. But they might still want to push waja stock soon. If you're lucky, maybe at discounted price (or full of freebies). This post has been edited by jumajuma: Aug 6 2010, 06:22 PM |

hmm maybe need to survey more, i dont want my 2nd car service cost much higher than mazda3.. Mazda8 would be very nice but it way way above my budget. maybe should settle up with exora..
will be servicing my M3 next week for 10k service, what other item i should look for? can we ask them to retune the engine? in proton we can ask them to re tune the ECU. Added on August 7, 2010, 11:53 am QUOTE(furiezachs @ Aug 6 2010, 10:33 PM) I also heard about free GPS. That was a real deal. But from what i know, it's only for 2009 registered car. mazda klang dealer still offering the GPS unit i think.. but i have gps already and gps unit also quite cheap now. So i choose the vkool discount offer instead.. but vkool elite is not GPS friendly la.. i always got reception problem and need to lower down the side window to navigate. that Mazda club card will be beneficial to u only if u eat Kenny R, Papajohn pizzas, krispy kreme doughnut etc. My wife loves Kenny R, so every now and then getting 10% discount is really something to me. Paying less is always better, isnt it? hahaha If that's the case, then I guess they have already stopped wajas production didnt they? Mind you, maintaining a Lancer will cost more than maintaining our M3 (my friend's ABS sensor cost him RM3k for GLS!), and much much more than a Waja... How to apply for the mazda club card? QUOTE(D-Zire @ Aug 7 2010, 04:08 PM) My FC is also about the same as you with 100% city driving (mad traffic jams included) for a full tank of Shell RON 97. So far i've clocked 5000 km already. I guess for a car 2.0 is ok la. Mazda is not famous for fuel efficiency anyways..hehe Full city driving for me can cover around 350 - 400km include some traffic jam. Dun compare it with vios or city but if compare with my previous waja should be around the same. |

QUOTE(D-Zire @ Aug 8 2010, 12:19 AM) City or vios can get another 50km on top of the 400km for a full tank? i'm not too sure myself. But i know waja is not fuel efficient..quite thirsty actually..i've got one in my house...FC same like my m3. haha City and vios should get around the same mileage as our M3 but their tank is smaller, but on highway if follow the speed limit can cover more than 600km for full tank. About the waja, I also own one before its mitsu engine, tank capacity very big.. End up the mileage its a bit more than M3 but offset it by the actual fuel use should be the same. The waja campro get worst fc than our M3 I think. Btw my petrol expenses can be claim.. So its no matter how thirsty the M3 it is I dun care. Added on August 8, 2010, 11:30 am QUOTE(max_cavalera @ Aug 8 2010, 01:31 AM) Who here own a graphite mica color? im going to take my car next week around next friday-saturday.... glad to join the group Congrat for your new ride bro.. Graphite mica would be nice. white is too common.. Always got confuse at parking with other white M3, summore I think the other M3 owner alway have a tendency to park next to my car.. Maybe coz family reunion This post has been edited by jumajuma: Aug 8 2010, 11:30 AM |

QUOTE(D-Zire @ Aug 8 2010, 12:09 PM) yeah i think white is too common already but nonetheless still a nice colour although hard to maintain la. Congrats max_cavalera. btw, is it a 1.6 or 2.0? Really hard to maintain white color.. Mine already applied the PPS so it is easier to wash the car. Satisfied with the work.. but wax still produce much better shining effect. |

QUOTE(D-Zire @ Aug 9 2010, 02:04 PM) not too sure about that.. different engine got different characteristic.. mine already 10k now.. the engine a bit noisy now. FC improve a bit, previously around 9.5~10.5L/100 now around 8~9L only. wait after i service for 10k and will give the final verdict. |

Maybe because of the RON95, tried 97 vpower is smoother but FC will be higher, it's noisy but only can be hear from outside of the car. suspect the sound come from the aircon belting. Will ask SC to check it later.
have u already redline ur engine? i read somewhere on the net one of the way to break in the engine is to redline the engine. i done it couple of time if i'm not mistaken when my mileage around 2000km to 3000km. |

QUOTE(X-Zen @ Aug 9 2010, 07:08 PM) Deciding between a Civic and Mazda 3 now mazda3 got extruded bumper la.. From casual observation on the road, i have this impression that Civic is longer than Mazda 3 but when i check the official specs Civic length - 4540 Mazda 3 length - 4580 Can anyone comment on this? Also what about the back seat leg room. Which one has more space? comfortable for 4 adult.. but civic is more spacious. test drive both 1st |

for mazda3 the space go to the rear bumper and also bigger engine compartment.. somehow got lot of empty space in the engine compartment probably becoz it share the mounting with turbocharge model such as MPS, the nose also longer to be more aerodynamic. if u see civic engine compartment its very compact, the remaining space go to cabin area.
btw civic is wider while M3 is taller. |

QUOTE(WindRider @ Aug 10 2010, 12:22 AM) For me the FC is just ok, believe if u choose civic the FC also not going better than M3, our problem is we keep comparing it with our previous car. Mine is waja while urs is vios. Vios is different class than M3, fyi I still keep my viva 1.0 for 100% city driving. The FC is just too efficient 50 ringgit for 1 week travel to work from sg buloh to pudu, if I use M3 the petrol with same amount will only gonna last for 2-3 day. But viva handling like sampan so I still drive my M3 and take longer route rather than dive in the jam area. Mazda3 more efficient during cruising. QUOTE(D-Zire @ Aug 10 2010, 01:41 AM) yeap i redlined it once only. engine was pretty loud i tot it was going to explode. lol. and when i use manual to change gears when i reach redline, somehow i see a lag in changing gear time. like when i reach 6.5k rpm i press the flappy pedals, the rev counter will go to 6.7k rpm only second gear will engage...hmmm... I didn't notice that, that mean the engine over rev to 6.7k only shift gear. But I notice the flappy pedal is not really responsive. Now I only use D mode and only use flappy pedal to downshift during cornering. |

QUOTE(WindRider @ Aug 10 2010, 10:48 AM) it's the max rev we can push our engine.. check ur RPM meter the redline on the meter indicate the max rev. to get it easier use manual and dont upshift the gear until the RPM reach the red marking. |

actually i clocking 10,000km just within 1.5 month.. edited my post already. my work involve travelling long distance.. JB>KL>penang>tganu. Average i'll clocking 100,000km per year, thats why i choose M3 if i buy normal car for traveling i'll feel sleepy when drive.
Start from this month will alternate my M3 with my 2nd car. enuff zoom2 already. |
