Jerky as in how?

Mine is working fine.
*
It's not laggy. Just jerky.

Animation of the units sometime freezes and sometimes moves.

Don't think fps went down at all.

Will try that later after work.

My specs as follows:
i7 920
Geforce GTX285

However, I don't think that's gonna help.

Probably 64bit was the thing that messing things up? Gotta try searching around in blizzard's forum for fix.
*
Yeah, hopefully there is a fix.

I have so many games on 64bit and this is giving me the most problems.

From crashing while downloading patches, to jerky animations. Considering Starcraft 2 has been in development for so long and it's very close to its release date, this is quite disappointing.

Finally, hopefully it'll work properly in Windows 7 64bit.

Getting annoyed with jerky animations, crashes during updates.

Time to pick a new graphics card.
*
I am using Geforce GTX285 and i7 920.

Game runs at 60-70 fps, checked using FRAPS.

It's still very very jerky.

QUOTE(XenoFr3ak @ May 4 2010, 07:41 AM)
Blizz will surely fix the problem. Lucky i install Windows 7 32bit. Sometimes it does crash on me also but always after exiting the game.
*
I get crashes once I finished downloading the patches or after applying the patches.

Considering their reputation, this should not have happened.

U cant really blame Blizz lo ... it is still in the beta stage.
*
It was in development for very long.

The game will be released in the next two months.

Therefore, it should be somewhere very closed to the final product.

I would be glad by then.

So far the music and sound effects are pretty good.

Graphic wise could use some AA and AF.

Do not agree with the sound effects. At least, Zerg units should be more distinctive.
*
Will try that, haven't touch Zerg yet.

Was using Terran to play for a few minutes.

What settings are you using? I'm on GTS230 and i5

I can get 140 - 200+ FPS (Dependent on maps) on everything low except shaders medium. (Then again I could go higher but i'm recording for youtube wee)

Recording FPS on FRAPs approximately 70 - 90, smooth and fine.
*
Resolution: 1920x1200
Details all at ultra.

Supposed to be smooth and no lag at 60-70fps but it's jerky.

EB Games Australia.

Thinking of getting it from GAME without the Beta Key.

Don't worry this game is a cash cow for Blizzard, they will milk us with their CE.

They will just manufacture more or just make the existing ones even more expensive.

there are many other people/testers playing with 64bit, you might wanna look into other issues instead of blaming blizz

I am trying to play Starcraft 2 Beta.

It's crashing my PC non stop.

Considering I have 200 over games (all original) with no issues, this is really annoying me.

Show me.

I can't find it this morning.

try lowering some of your settings and see how it goes, multiplayer have some certain issues that may cause fps dips/drop which could explain your jerkiness.

also, updating your graphic card drivers may further improve situation

Added on May 4, 2010, 9:45 am

just like all its previous CE, 1 time production, and thats it.

they never made the existing/old CEs more expensive, its the players/people that do. demand and supply business sense, got it?
*
Doesn't matter, the shops can always sell u more expensive since it's limited in quantity.

God, why are you guys so unfriendly compared to SSF4 game fans?

and that is blizz's fault/them milking cash, how?
srsly look around, and do tell me if anyone is hiking CE prices NOW. in fact, if you preorder from sites like amazon etc, upon release, should they secure cheaper prices, they WILL lower the price on your final invoice.

hell, look at WOTLK CE, the availability is so abundant people are having PROBLEMS selling it much less hiking its price.
and instead of us (or me) being unfriendly, you might wanna ask yourself why. i mean, think about it, if someone is spouting nonsense or biased opinions/comments against a game in the very thread that is dedicated to that said game, how do you think those posters that are fans of said game, would react?

if you cant figure it out, think about this:
i goto SSF4 thread right now, and claim that game is utter shit and buggy, and its unbalanced to hell and tourneys involved people spamming hadouken for a good 20-30 seconds. and blazblue f***ing rocks, you'd think people would agree with me, or flame the hell outta me?

Also I didn't say it's Blizzard fault to milk us.

I am saying that they can either create more of CE, or charge more for CE.

Several StarCraft II beta testers have reported their PC or video cards have died after installing the NVIDIA 196.75 drivers. The large amount of reports have prompted Blizzard Entertainment to issue an official statement on the tech support forums after identifying the source of the problem.

Some players were blaming the StarCraft II Beta client's latest patch, but a Blizzard Tech Support representative quickly explained the issue is caused by the latest NVIDIA 196.75 drivers.

Blizzard recommended to uninstall the NVIDIA 196.75 drivers, and to downgrade to the previous driver version: 196.21. Starcraft II Beta is not the only application affected, thus this is a worldwide alert to every gamer out there. Blizzard concluded the fans control in this NVIDIA driver is not working properly.

This means every single 3D application (i.e. games) running these drivers is going to be exposed to overheating and in some extreme cases it will cause video card, motherboard and/or processor damage. If said motherboard, processor or graphic card is not under warranty, some gamers are in serious trouble playing intensive games such as Prototype, World of Warcraft, Farcry 3, Crysis and many other games with realistic graphics.

Some EVGA enthusiasts have been able to manually change the GPU fans speed settings using the EVGA Precision Tool to run their fans at 77% speed to compensate.

Blizzard Tech Support representative Datth, posted the following alert to all gamers:

We're getting reports where users are getting intermittent low FPS after installing these drivers. It seems that it is related to the fan control included in these drivers not working correctly and is causing the video card to overheat on 3D applications. This will affect Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft and StarCraft 2 Beta. Please uninstall the drivers and revert back to the older ones.

        * Windows XP
        * Windows XP 64-bit
        * Windows Vista/7 32-bit
        * Windows Vista/7 64-bit

More information can be found on NVIDIA forum threads such as this and this.

We reached NVIDIA tonight for an official statement concerning this worrysome issue, and they quickly replied within less than an hour. NVIDIA's response is:

We are aware that some customers have reported fan speed issues with the latest 196.75 WHQL drivers on NVIDIA.com. Until we can verify and root cause this issue, we recommend that customers stay with, or return to 196.21 WHQL drivers. Release 196.75 drivers have been temporarily removed from our Web site in the meantime.

One of these gamers reported insane egg-cooking temperatures as high as 104'C.

Current WHQL drivers for Windows 7 64bit is 197.45

From Blizzard forums:

How to enable AA in Starcraft 2 Beta:
QUOTE
I personally use a GTX 295. So i'm sure it may be different for how Catalyst controls it.

1. Go to Program Files/Starcraft 2 beta folder. Change the Starcraft ii.exe and rename it to SC2.exe

2. Go to nVidia control panel and then add SC2.exe to your single control list. and force it on and AA will work ingame.

IMPORTANT: if you do NOT do step 1, it will not work, nVidia control panel will try reading it as SC2.exe instead of starcraft ii.exe
Source: http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topic...393370&sid=5000

From Tom's hardware:

QUOTE
The StarCraft II beta doesn't include an anti-aliasing (AA) setting at this time, and it's unclear at this point if the released version will offer that functionality. In the meantime, we tried forcing AA through the Radeon and GeForce driver panels. The feature didn't seem to work on the Radeon cards, but all of the GeForce cards we tested except the GeForce 9600 GT were able to handle AA successfully.
