Actually, I have a theory that this reversal is good for those of us holding beta/penny stocks - i.e. not Blue Chip. This is because the recent run up to 1050+ was on the back (largely) of the Blue Chips and if the index drops and takes those back down with it, then the next rally may help those of us with beta/penny stocks rather than the premier counters.

Anyway, that's my excuse - and I'm sticking to it. tongue.gif

buy stock also scare (afraid it will go down some more)
dont buy also scare it goes (miss the boat)

sell to early afraid it will go up further and dont have patient to wait and go in on the high side.
play contra

average also scare it will drop further
waiting for quarterly result ,dividen, capital repay etc also scare how many times it will go up and down in order to have profit or cut loss

whether to cut loss or breakeven or average more ??

plenty of if hidden news have not pops out yet eg GM motors, North and south korea war, GDP going down etc.

all this things will affect the market.

what is the investing plan when it goes up or down?
BUY / WAIT/ SELL /DONT BUY smile.gif

if u think the market will go up hold all stocks
if u think the market will go down sell all the stocks. dont sell one and hold another bcos all shares will be red no exemption unless very lucky one, even blue chip

One worry is that TM is trading at huge down/selling volume for the last few days, signal massive divestment of some funds.
*
But you can't blame the funds divesting after the truly awful performance turned in by the incompetent clowns running TM... doh.gif

Folks,

Don't worry too much about the US GDP... it is bad but it is slightly smaller than expected.

But..treasury yields are troubling..all signs indicating USD heading south... sell Dollar NOW!!!
Buy OIL!! Oil will hit $75/$80 soon!!  biggrin.gif
*
Yes.
Oil price is going up largely because of the weakness of the currency in which is priced. Expect it to go to US$80.00 pretty soon.

Ya, I'd like to work for say... EPF?  tongue.gif

Ya, our gov hasn't really started any projects yet right? So far, only stimulus funds used is to bail out valuecap and others. There's also some maintenance works... Two weeks ago, they repaired the road outside of my area. I saw 10 trucks, this does not include the machines for flatterning, releasing tar, whatnots. I tot good, gonna fix the whole stretch which is about 1.5km. But after 2 days, they completed only 300m...

300meter still need so many trucks and 2 days to complete ka? Sigh, thats how the stimulus funds are being spent lo. Maybe oso give loan of 400million plus for legoland to build their themepark. I think that's why legoland came, why not with local gov giving you money to build...

Looks like a possibility now. Never wish for something that deep down inside, you don't want. News update from Channel News Asia.

NORTH KOREA SEEN TO BE PREPARING TO LAUNCH A LONG RANGE MISSILE: V. V. V. BAD
"A train carrying a long-range missile has been spotted at the weapons research centre near Pyongyang," South Korea's Yonhap news agency quoted an intelligence source as saying.

The source said it may be a modified version of a Taepodong-2, which the North tested in 2006 and in April and which is theoretically capable of reaching Alaska.

"It usually takes about two months to set up a launch pad, but the process could be done in as little as two weeks, which means the North could launch a long-range missile as early as mid-June," the source said.

Yonhap quoted a presidential official as saying the North may schedule a launch to coincide with a June 16 summit between South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak and US President Barack Obama in Washington.

Two defence officials in Washington told AFP US satellite photos had shown vehicle activity at two launch sites in the North, one in the west and one in the east.

Pyongyang says it will take "additional self-defence measures" in response to any sanctions.

"If the UN Security Council (UNSC) provokes us, our additional self-defence measures will be inevitable," its foreign ministry said Friday

I wouldn't worry about North Korea - a small detachment of special forces could collapse the entire country - if China were to allow it.

How many guns do you see??

That's true. Plastic surgery is a huge business in South Korea - bigger per capita than in the US.

Not sure which bits are the most popular to have done though hmm.gif

My initial sentiments exactly with N.Korean military. They will be like Iraq,
all will run away with tails between their legs when bombing starts.  biggrin.gif
Their propaganda touting how great their army and leadership are nothing but all crap!

From market perspective.. if war does break out, it will be good for commodity market.
All metals, food and the Oil price will skyrocket, here's more opportunity to profit!!    thumbup.gif

You'd be surprise tho. They've been a military country for how many years? In terms of tech, you can't say they are backwards. What's all these nuclear technology then? Why would arm dealers want weapons from them if they are no good?

And the problem is not really about N. Korea invading other countries. It's about them shooting missiles. smile.gif  faster to push a button than the US/S.Korean/China army to launch an invasive attack to negate the missile launch sites
*
Good point.

One thing that's always confused me though is why it's in China's strategic interest to continue to support them - or at least not to actively keep them in line.

US unemployment number should see an increase the following month or months ahead. GM's bankcruptcy will definately have an impact on the unemployment numbers. whether the market has already discounted that remains to be seen.

Hmmmm...I'm not sure if some people understand the concept (and reality) of Chapter 11 or Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the US.
It's not like bankruptcy here you know.

i believe the current rally do have foreign funds involvement because from March to May the Malay dollar vs US dollar strenghten from 3.7255 to 3.489 -
On 28 (3.523)& 29 (3.5075) May the Malay dollar shows signs of weakening.

If we look at the current rally general trend it's still intact. What about coming weeks?
Can it reach 1070?
*
Not sure what you mean..... hmm.gif
But :
In May 2008 it was MYR 3.16 = USD1.00.
I know that for a fact as I made a lot of money out of it.

So - the point is?
