I'm a bear. smile.gif News are good about investors risk appetites and yadda, very happy happy sugar high stuff. How can Japan have more confident investors with N. Korea stirring up trouble? Bloomberg article says so... How can Malaysia have a bull market when we are headed for a technical and prolonged recession? Why all these news then? Because govs been spending mass amounts of money and they cannot be seen to fail. They need investors to go along with them but stats don't lie. Why would there be a bull in a middle of a tech recession. Thus I'm a bear with Warren Buffet, who's usually optimistic but has been sending his aide Soko out to warn ppl that the real estate problem is not over, etc etc etc. smile.gif

Definitely a bear.

Unemployment claims and unemployment numbers next week.

GDP number was worst than expected, but will be worst next quarter if employment numbers are worst than expected.

Please look at CFTC report on the DOW put/call options.

We also have to note that on Monday night... When GM declare their Chapter 11...
Walah... dont know how much impact will that be on Mr.Jones....

Wouldn't it be better if we walk behind the bear and collect the leftover, so that when the bear left and all the other scavengers started looking for food, we can unload the food with high prices ? Haaaaa

Normally that is a good strategy, the problem here is timing.

A good precaution is too put 1 feet into long term share like REIT and 1 feet out holding cash to scoop up bargains as they come.

I do hope for super sale next week. biggrin.gif

U got to remember that EPF, Khazanah and Valuecapa have ROIs to meet, that's why you see them buy and sell at profit. Cannot expect them to continue buying at high prices just to upkeep the bull trend right? Government bails out only political linked companies, don't ever trust that they'll bail u out. Do you think the government would confess that things are not doing as well as they should be, especially with stimulus funds they've been pumping? If things were going well in the first place, they wouldn't need to pump an additional 60bn. What they need to do is restructure the nation's economy. Foreign Funds oso saying bull bull bull now, cos they want you as an investor to go in and buy their funds. All 3 parties have vested interests to keep investors thinking that all is good.

Retail investors, I'm afraid, do not have enough $$$ and enough balls to keep a bull. They are fickle minded, one day bull one day bear. When the bear comes, they'd be dumping the shares like there's no tomorrow. Feb-March is a case in point.

GDP announcement was worse than predicted and our recession is to be pro-longed, not ending FY09. Not now. So why the bull coming right out from announcement? Economic fundamentals do not change overnight so can you believe that there is to be no negative effect at all on the CI which prior to this, was riding on the idea that we are not doing so bad?

Do you notice that USA after announcing the GDP, they came up with sugar coated news that investors have more risk appetite now and that is a good sign for the market? Same thing as Malaysia? So now, we should depend on investors risk appetite for a recovery in the market? Shouldn't we depend on better fundamentals instead?

Hold on to your good counters, don't sell at loss if you have HOLDING power. If its at profit, well you can decide to hold or sell depending on the sector and your confidence in the company. But make sure you have enough to average down if need be and buy in batches (in case of further drop) to conserve your funds. The last person remaining, who had shot at some good shares on the way down but still with bullets left will be the most rewarded. Make sure you don't shoot all your bullets now if you are playing contra.

Reits would do well in coming downtime, as ppl will go for defensive stocks. So hold it tight and hope that they don't lose their tenants. smile.gif

Why worry? You are not playing warrants. smile.gif Haha. TGOFFS can still survive with only a little damage because of oil prices. Ppl will want to lock in equipment and building rigs when materials still cheap before Crude Oil goes up causing everything else to go haywire again. Be cautious tho, as your price is a little high. But you still go money left right? Don't worry, be zen.

Once crude oil goes up, manufacturing, airlines, retail will be hit badly again.

I think the most safest share to buy is oil n gas stock .. it will remain stable for at least 1-2 months from now ..

Tommorow likely share will go up in the morning ... strong plantation support stocks ..

US unemployment number should see an increase the following month or months ahead. GM's bankcruptcy will definately have an impact on the unemployment numbers. whether the market has already discounted that remains to be seen.

How much u put in TGoffs? hmm.gif
My remiser alwys says if market is getting hot very toppish/unstable, its time to trim down shares and get some profit, dun hold too much stock. Hold some cash for backup in case any big drop in share market. Later when market more stable can consider buying back some to average down price for those good stock.

TGOffs is a good shares, i will like to buy some if it drop to RM1.

Its recent dividen 4sen and 2 sen really yummy. Tabung Haji accumulating it recently, should have some strong support. Unless if oil price drop to USD 30 again.. its price wont swing much.
