Added on June 3, 2009, 2:20 amOFFICIAL: Gareth Barry Signs For Manchester CityQUOTE The Villa captain has swapped Birmingham for Eastlands...
Manchester City have signed Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry in a £12 million deal.
The 28-year-old is Manchester City's first summer signing, and has penned a five-year deal at the City of Manchester Stadium.
Barry had been expected by some to sign for Liverpool this summer, but has opted for Eastlands despite the Citizens' failure to attain European football for 2009-10.
The England international is expected to line up alongside Stephen Ireland in City's midfield, having already become acquainted with the club today during his medical.
City spent more than any other Premier League club last season, and have begun this summer in similar fashion, making a "clear signal of intent" heading into the transfer window.
Barry is a member of Fabio Capello's England squad to meet Kazakhstan this weekend. SososososLolololol.. Out of nowhere.. Suddenly he signs for city.. I thought he's going to replace Alonso at Liverpool if Alonso really leaves.. This post has been edited by FaezFarhan: Jun 3 2009, 02:20 AM

still injured, ... QUOTE Hargreaves out until next year
Manchester United's preparations for next season have been dealt an early blow with Owen Hargreaves, the England midfield player, unlikely to be back in action until January. Sir Alex Ferguson, the United manager, had hoped to have Hargreaves playing by the start of the new season in August, but his recovery from two knee operations is taking longer than expected and neither the club nor the player is prepared to rush his return for fear of a setback. The next couple of months are likely to provide more definitive answers, with Hargreaves hopeful of being able to join his team-mates for light training once or twice a week from next month or August before stepping up his rehabilitation programme to include more rigorous training after that. It is doubtful, though, that he will return to action before the new year. James Ducker, The Times

Citeh will not be in any European competition next season.why bother joining them? instead,he (maybeeeee) can help Villa to win the Europa league.

QUOTE(odieseven @ Jun 3 2009, 02:00 PM) Why RM is buying midfielders baffles me when their problem is actually at the back. Always going for the wrong superstars. they will eventually....Cannavaro oredi left, Metz, Pepe and Heinze played like shit in La Liga, Marcelo not really happy bla bla bla...

New Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti tried desperately to bring Kaka with him from AC Milan to Stamford Bridge.
But he was powerless to stop new Real president Florentino Perez sealing the deal.
As SunSport exclusively revealed, Chelsea will now go all out for Milan striker Alexandre Pato - though an initial £30m offer has been rejected.
Perez staged his Kaka coup after intense talks with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.
A Chelsea source confirmed: "Mr Ancelotti tried very, very hard to get Kaka to begin the new era at the club.
"But in the end Real Madrid had more money to spend. Now Chelsea are even more determined to get Pato."
Kaka's dad Bosco Leite helped the player thrash out personal terms.
The negotiations took place a day after Perez was confirmed as Real president after all rival candidates quit the race.
Kaka, 27, had tried to deny a deal was on, insisting he wanted to stay at the San Siro.
The Samba superstar was on his way back to Brazil to join up with the national team while his dad was negotiating a deal believed to be worth £160,000 a week with the Spaniards.
Kaka's £62m move will eclipse the £47m Perez paid Juventus for Zinedine Zidane in 2001.
Milan are still open to offers for striker Pato - as long as Chelsea now increase their £30m opening bid. Source: TheSUN
