Unless he turn sewel, or fail the medical, he'll be a Real Madrid player. Just need to sign the paperwork and stuff.

Added on June 13, 2009, 5:23 pmSo Valencia it is then. I would be content with that, the longer I think about it..

if there were to be a surprise..and they say ronaldos transfer would be cancelled..boy i wouldnt know if i should be happy or disappointed by that.. wink.gif

If he said no, he better sign a new contract straight away. There's no way anyone would offer that much for him with a season or two left, unless it's M.City.

Added on June 13, 2009, 5:44 pmAs it stands now.

Back four.
Valencia-Carrick-Fletcher/Anderson-Nani/Park
Rooney-Berba

Not too bad I guess. Get someone to replace Tevez(a target man/goalscorer/A new Saha) and we're set.

We've been quietly doing our transfer business every since the Glazers took over. Don't have to announce every single thing we do anymore.

We are quiet because most people are still on holiday. Would imagine once the pre-season starts, so will most of the transfer dealings. Just hope the internet would cope with people pressing the F5 button.

1)
Again with that talk of a holding midfielder.. Fletcher, Hargreaves and Carrick are more than sufficient. Look at Xavi and Iniesta in the CL final.. are they holding midfielders? But they along with that Busquet(?) did well defending as a team which nullifies us. And Roy Keane was more than just a mere defensive midfielder, he was the complete package.

If you're talking about someone to dominate the midfield, just wait for Anderson to mature.

2)
Rooney will be that man(unless we shift him out onto the wings again) if we play him upfront. Doesn't matter if he plays behind Berba or ahead of him, he will get the goals. Just need to stay clear of injuries, and not ship out onto the wing so much.

Then we need someone to replace Tevez.. a backup for Roo-Berba. Someone who can play the target man, and is quick would be very helpful for us. 30 for Rooney, 25 for Berba, around 20 for that new guy, and we'll be set.
---

Looks like Valencia is our target. That's one wing sorted I guess. If Nani is still here, he need to play at least like in the first season where he was threatening. And with Park being his usual self, and Tosic unveiled, we should be fine there. Ronaldo only got 8 assists in his last 2 seasons.. that won't be hard to match. Our strikers might find a lot of joy this time around, hopefully.

We don't need to buy any more for the future.. Tosic is here, and that Ljajic will be coming next January. Just need another winger or two that can straight away perform from the word go.

And if were talking about physique, Ronaldo was a skinny player when he first arrived. He can't even balance himself.. tongue.gif

Liverpool won't sell him, especially to us. And I doubt he would want to join us.

Schweinsteiger is overrated, Podolski was their backup, Klose and Toni are allright I suppose. But their midfield and defence are weak.

Hope we get Ribery from them, or at least we would try to if the price is right.

i believe we miss an opportunity to sign gareth barry .should fit in nicely.

of all the speculations on ribery and benzema , my thinking is that ibrahimovic will be ideal to replace ronaldo. the man is hungry for european glory and have the physique

forget about toress , he wont join UTD and i think fergie wont fancy david villa that much . if toress whom i rate as the best finisher in club football since ian rush join us, there may be war at north west england

most of all we need to beef up our central midfield and add in some muscle in there. we are too skinny there
*
Barry? He's a bit like Carrick, only that he run around a lot more. Ibrahimovic would be good, but we already have 2 class strikers here. Just need someone that would be happy to rotate with them.

Fletcher-Carrick-Anderson. That should be a match for any of the big teams. Only problem is that if one of them injured, then we got a problem with Hargreaves also likely to be on the injured list. Fletcher is crucial for us IMO if we go with 433.. For most teams Fletcher/Anderson-Carrick would be good enough as shown in the past seasons.

I think thats the only position we have so many talented player to play there..no problem..

Only if Anderson and Nani can step up and show they mean business.. I think that Anderson has been called "New Ronaldinho" before moving here...
*
That was because he was running at defenders for fun(from youtube) in those days. People got surprised by him when he started to play regularly for us in midfield instead. And that's his future with us. With how our team is set up right now, there's no room for a new Ronaldinho unfortunately. 2 in the middle, 2 wingers, 2 strikers. Anderson is coming along fine. Had a great first season, early and middle of last season was a bit Nani like, but late last season started playing his normal game again. Have big hopes for him.. He'll be the one trying to unlock defence in midfield. Might need a few more years to fine tune that.

Or it could be true. Liverpool said it was important that they keep Alonso and Mascherano. No mention of Torres whatsoever. If I'm a Liverpool fan, I would be very worried. biggrin.gif For every Utd fan, just eat lots of eggs and but lots of tissues.

Added on June 16, 2009, 4:40 pmThey're under pressure all right. 2011? Only 2 years away. Now is the time to cash in. Next summer there won't be anyone crazy enough to offer them close to what he's worth.

They probably will get 40-50m with the amount of money being thrown around. But if they want more they're probably nuts. 2 years left.. next season 50% off..

real madrid will suffer a backlash from their own fans if they offer anything above 40MBP for ribery who will offer little for advertising revenues

bayern is lucky now as the big guns in europe are gunning for whatever leftovers of good players that is available now.

no doubt he appear to be a good player occasionally. remember he only scored 9 bundesliga goals last season and the big question remain whether he could handle the power and pace of the premier league.

i rate his value at best 25-30 MBP but the as we know prices can really turn crazy
*
He's a winger. Not many wingers are expected to score more than 10 each season. That would just be a bonus. Teams look at them to provide and deliver balls for the others. And Ribery is quite good at that.

If an 18 year old skinny Portuguese winger can handle the league, I can't see why a 26 year old winger who's been dribbling past people and getting hack down all his career can't handle the league. 25-35m in normal market.. but it's not normal right now. But still shouldn't be more than 45m..

Put urs back inside, will never happen. Only 2 potential No.7 comes into my mind (current squad):

1)Nani
2)Welbeck

Tosic has yet to show us his stuff, so I'll reserve my judgment on him.

Other than that, potential No.7 arriving:

1)Ribery

That's all. Other players that are linked with us, i.e Sanchez, I'd say, no.
*
It will happen.. he's got the looks, he's got the ability, and you have to remember at the start of last season who was the only one who look like scoring for us. He was our top scorer, until he was ask to cover all the attackers. He will step up.. with no Ronaldo to cover for, expect him to get at least 25 goals in the league. laugh.gif

Nani doesn't have that aura or ability of a #7 for us. He's good, but not that good. Welbeck while I think is something special, is not on the same level at Rooney/Ronaldo's age(which is no criticism, not many are).. unless SAF really view him as one. He'll be a striker for us, someone to play alongside Berba/Rooney.. mini Henry. nod.gif

Ribery should get it.. he should join us.

I don't think Nani is that bad. But I kinda imagine that Tosic/Ljajic is 7 better than Nani. Sometimes in my opinion, we need a 'new' 7 rather than similar to the previous one. I mean, cmon, it's better to imagine a newer 7, rather than a comparable 7's. If not, people will start to compare Ronaldo with Nani. Those dribble, those 2 legs, etc etc. CR7 is different to DB7, same does to EC7. So I personally don't think Nani is quite suite to be in 7. He is great player, but frankly, I'd expect someone 'new' to be the next 7.

If, you guys get what I'm trying to deliver here.

And I'm voting Tosic. icon_rolleyes.gif
Or maybe Ljajic, since he no number. tongue.gif

That's all. Peace yo.
*
What's wrong with just viewing him as one of our starting winger? I saw that in him when Ronaldo was still here, and I still feel the same way. But next season he need to perform or else he'll be a Quaresma.

We can always buy him back SeaMonster. biggrin.gif A goalscorer.. would fit in nicely with us.. although maybe we need a bigger target man.

Did you follow us at all last season haobeck? The youngsters got plenty of chances. Rafael, Evans were our squad players. Welbeck had a couple of starts, and Macheda had key cameos.. if they're good enough, and prepared to wait for their chances, they would get games with us.

Pique in his last season got plenty of starts as well. They(Rossi & Pique) just wanted regular games which we can't provide, and with them having only a year left on their contracts, it was easy to accept offers for them.

I still think SAF should put more patience on the young stars..
not only by judging them by few game performances...
they should be put on the starting line-up in the next season..
not only juz for subs ...

i dono..some of u guys like to see new faces like david villa..ribery ..or those fancy stars ..
but i prefer we fully utilize our young prospects..
or mayb we can jus buy Valencia is well enough to play for the BPL next season!  smile.gif

Added on June 16, 2009, 10:29 pm

wat about danny simpson then?he plays good too~~
Tats wat i wanna say..regular game ...
not only by giving sweets for them to taste the BPL ..let them play regularly..
Nani is a good player..only if he keep on playing ..he will learn faster rather than sitting on the bench!
*
Should put more patience on the youngsters? He was prepared to give lots of games for Rafael and Evans last season. Even put his trust in the youngsters against Everton in the semi final of the Fa Cup. While it's all well and good thinking of the youngsters and giving them chances, would you be prepared to have a situation like Arsenal where they had to rely on talented kids and not win anything? What SAF just did last season was perfect IMO.

We just lost one of the best player in the world.. forgive us for thinking that none of the youngsters(and the other squad players) are not ready yet for fill his boots.

Danny Simpson? If he's good enough he would get games regardless. Just look at Rafael.

Do you suggests we play Pique/Rossi in those days ahead of one of Rooney, Saha, Tevez, Rio, Vida and Wes?

So the conclusion is we letting too much good young players to other clubs...
any idea to stop letting them go other leagues?
I still rmber SAF said ROSSI is a superstar ..he's got the future at the club..
end up still sold to Villareal ..why!? why not trying his best to keep him !? let him play regularly?

Added on June 16, 2009, 10:45 pm

not so sure..for my opinion Valencia is enough..
buy more stars ..we wont see a single shadow of Macheda..or Wellbeck..
maybe in reserve team(not as good as BPL) ..FA ..or League Cup (Once/twice in a month sometimes) ..
*
Too much youngsters to other clubs? Only Rossi and Pique left who did well and can be considered as a squad player for us. The others have never been good enough for our squad.

Rossi wanted regular first team football, SAF can't promised him that. We had Saha, Rooney, Tevez and Ole that time. With him only had a year left on his contract, you can see why he was sold that season. We could end up getting nothing whatsoever for him at that end of the season.

Same thing almost for Pique, a season left and a chance to go back to his hometown get games for them.. easy choice for him. But we also have Evans who done extremely well in the EPL with Sunderland 2 seasons back. WE might lost one talented defender, but we had another just as good if not better to step up.. and also we got some money from Pique's sale.

You think Valencia would be able to replace Ronaldo and losing Tevez won't effect us? God help us if Rooney/Berba or both of them are out for more than a month. If losing Tevez and Ronaldo wasn't bad enough, losing Berba and Rooney as well through injuries and whatnot would be disastrous. That's proabably around 80% of our goal getter? Macheda showed last season he isn't ready yet for a regular season with us. Welbeck though is ready to be our 4th choice striker.
